Just got this. :)

Great news! Effective July 8, 2008, Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) is available in America’s Top 200 and higher on DISH Network! LMN had formerly only been available to customers subscribing to America’s Top 250 and higher.

LMN, DISH Network channel 109, has movies from a woman's perspective and distinctive point of view!

Movies are for and about women that connect with who they are and their experiences, and cover every genre from romance and mystery to drama and comedy, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I "hope " this doesnt mean that Lifetime HD is comin soon ( cus I would be forced to block my first HD channel)

Thanks, Scott for the info:up -- My wife will be pleased, and well I don't mind a chick flick every now and then, either.

However, Scott's news begs the frequent question: If I (or we) didn't visit this board, how would we find out about such DISH programming news? We are a small percentage of DISH's subscribers, so I guess the masses will eventually stumble on to it or DISH may take the time to print it on a monthly statement. Every couple of weeks particularly after the the first day of the month, I intentionally browse all of my channels to see if any have changed from "red" to "blue" -- either indicating a new channel available to my package or a free preview.

Well, I'd be shocked if this news isn't a precursor to seeing LMN and Lifetime HD's... Lifetime Ent is a joint venture between Disney (whom dish seems to be on good terms with) and Hearst (who also has stakes in the ESPN family and the A&E family of channels) plus, it seems they (e* and Lifetime) have kissed and made up after that whole debacle a few years back.

Not to sound ignorant (but it will probably come out that way anyhow), a couple of female-skewed stations might make e*'s HD upgrades an easier sale in households where the wife controls the checkbook.

Probably the only channel LESS important to me than the World Fishing Network.... But congrats to those interested.... although I'm sure less than .0001% who are will be reading this forum today....

All I know is if they Add Lifetime-HD and LMN-HD, they sure as hell better add Speed-HD that same week.

Its bad enough that she's got Bravo-HD now. (SD shows that take up HD space on the DVR).

Lifetime HD???

See films were man abuse women in HD???

My girlfriend will kill me if I let Lifetime on our TV SET she calls that the woman abuse network.

life time was my first taste of womens pro wrestling with the lpwa. i cant tell you the number of times i saw that one guy (the old guy) come in and take shots at the ladies after they had lost a match or whatever. i had made my mind up then and that was all the way back around the late 80s that that channell just wanted women to hate us men. she is right. it is the wife abuse network. watch any movie on the new channell or on life time itself and youll see.

Go to DISH's site and enter your e-mail at the bottom of the site. They are always behind this site, but at least you will get them if you wish.
