I am not sure wher to put thsi but since the primar focus of the report deals with copyright issues like those presented by digital broadcasts of the superstations I decided to put it here.

Make your own judgment here. No matter what i said about what the report states explicitly or implies some would take issue with it. But I see nothing talking about the superstations going away in February and some references that iply that they will continue. But I have never found any report of them gong away except in posts here and at dbstalk and avsforums.
Perhaps the best comment in the report though is the observation that on Feb 17, 2009 everyone would qualify for distant nets because we will all live in white areas---ares unserved by ANALOG network affiliates. The Copyright office recommends that legislation be enacted prior to the Feb 17 date to calrify iisues raised by the "timing gap" between the digital cutoff date and the expiration of SHVERA on December 31, 2009.
I agree with that. The alleged death of the supers is the result of people reading the refernces to analog broadcasting just as the notion that we will all be in white areas is.
