As many of you probably know, NBC has created two new channels for the Olympics with dedicated coverage (one for Soccer, One for Basketball). Satellite services (Dish & Direct) have picked up on these, as have some canle companies.

I have been surfing and finding conflicting info regarding whether Comcast has added these to their channel listings. It might be a regional Comcast office thing. I'm curious, how many of you are receiving these new channels?

I know that yesterday, when I checked DISH's satellite service, the OLYMS channel was only showing a fixed message stating that soccer coverage was coming soon. This is kind of stupid since there were womens games being played and being broadcast elsewhere (Direct TV, I think)

Today, I checked OLYMS on DISH and I saw a few minutes of the Argentina game. I could not find it on Comcast, but then my package with them is pretty limited. I am running cable straight to my set's QAM tuner without a set top box, so I have no EPG to search.

I have dish at home, caught some of another soccer match (forgot the teams) when I went home at lunch. At work (we sell tv's) we have the ole full blown HD Digital cable; no dice... not even a message (thru the STB message menu) talking about the Olympic HD-VOD stuff they are supposed to be offering. Maybe they will turn it on tomorrow...

We've got them here on Comcast in South Jersey... none of the other HD channels the other Comcast systems have gotten over the past six months (SciFi, USA, Food, HGTV, CNN, AMC, etc,) but we've got two olympic channels in HD to go along with the other 2 or 3 channels the olympics are on... way to go...
