Need help with 129 on standard 1000 setup

I've been having trouble getting 129 so I decided to move my dish.

Now when I test I get:
1 - 119 - OK
2 - 110 - OK
3 - CONN - X
Reception Verified
DPP TWIN

If I check the signal strength I get:
119 - 70
110 - 77
129 - 70 WRONG SAT 119 W

What do you think is wrong?
I have a lot of trees.
My zip is 31793
Should I try aiming a second dish at 61.5W?

Mu elevation was still set at about 38 from the previous install.
I reset the elevation to 41 which is what it says it should be on the screen.

I read about some common misalignments and thought I would give it a try to turn the azmuth a little until i picked up signal again.
I turned a few degrees east.

Now I have:

1 - 110 - OK
2 - CONN - X
3 - 119 - OK
Reception Verified
DPP TWIN

If I check the signal strength I get:
119 is fine
110 - NAME NOT ACQUIRED
129 - WRONG SAT 110 W

Now I am really confused.

ima guess

OK best thing to check is make sure the dish mass is level (side to side left to right) once that's out of way, i don't think u have a signal meter so you're gonna have to get some one to watch the screen on sat 119 transponder 16 if u get 70- 75 than ur good when u get 129 your gonna be looking for signal 40 - 55 mainly. transponder 31 or 30 i forget witch one exactly

if your are still not getting 129 look at where you dish points 129 comes in at the left side of the dish loking outwards.

I covered up the two outside LNBs with foil and guess what?
Center LNB signal is coming in on #1 !!!
I just took the whole thing apart because this is really starting to bug me.

The dish I am using is a Dish 1000
I have an AK72-BTE twin LNB and a single LNB
According to the plastic shroud the twin was placed correctly for receiving sats 119 and 110
However, the center LNB is testing out as #1

Looks like my installer had something wrong all along.
I'm going to go do some reading on this...

I found this PDF
dishretailer.com/dishstore/dish1000/Facts.pdf

With the standard configuration as shown on the first page should the middle lnb show up as #1 ?
It does on mine.

If this is correct then I guess my initial setup was pretty close except that I couldn't receive 129.

I'm going to put it back together now and try again.

If you have any ideas please post. I'll check back a little later.

If you're looking at the eyes of the lnbs...110/119 would be in the middle, and the 129 would be to its left...correct?

129--110/119 (standing behind the dish and looking at the eyes)?

looking at the eyes of the lnbs...Single LNB is on the left and it should pick up 129 , Dual LNB is on the right. 119 should be picked up by the middle LNB (left side of the dual) and 110 should be picked up on the right LNB.

The thing that confused me was that the middle (119) LNB shows up on the switch test as #1 instead of #2

I've got a cold and I kind of got tired of messing with it.
I might try a little later.
I wish someone would verify that with this setup the center LNB should show up as #1 on the switch test before I go back out there.

have a look at the pdf if you are not sure
dishretailer.com/dishstore/dish1000/Facts.pdf

My setup is the standard one on page one.

Thanks for the confirmation.
I have everything back together again with good signal on 119 an 110.

I know that all three LNBs are working since I was able to get signal on all three while I was fooling around with the positioning.
Although I never did see sat 129

This receiver has been unplugged for a while so maybe I need to force a software upgrade before I go further.

It is a ViP211
The HDMI has stopped working on it.
Maybe there is something else wrong with it.
Maybe it's the trees.
I don't know...

I'm in South GA.
Anyone else have problems with 129 in this area?
If I use a second dish pointed at 61.5 instead of 129 what will I be missing if anything?

61.5 has a stronger signal than the 129...till its replaced late this year, early next. Might be easier for you to hit the 61.5 with the 2nd dish. Definitely don't try and get the 129, unless you have a separate dish pointed at it.

119 is the center eye of the three and it should always show up on Port 1.

If you are having real trouble, you can remove all the LNBs, and just put the single LNB in the center position and put the receiver on 119 Tp 11. Once you have that, then just move the LNB over to the 129 slot and switch the receiver over to 129 on Tp 30. If all goes well, you should have signal on all three locations by just moving the single LNB to each slot and checking its appropriate satellite on the receiver. Once all is done, then add back in your DPP Twin (it's not a dual, folks) and then run your check switch. A valid result will be like this

Port 1 | Port 2 | Port 3
119 | 110| 129
Conn | Conn | Conn
------------------------
Satellite Reception Verified
------------------------
DPP Twin (1, 2) DP Dual (3)

Looks like 129 is going to be impossible.
I thought moving the dish would help but it is just as bad or worse.

Putting it on the roof might work but I have another dish that I am not using so I plan to try for 61.5
According to dishpointer it should be a lot easier to clear the trees.

I just finished reading about the new eastern arc.
Maybe I should just call Dish and see if they will switch me over.

The guy at DISH said that they would not set me up with eastern arc.
Maybe sometime in the future.
They are only giving it to certain new customers with certain installs or something like that.
