:D:D:D:D At last USA and SCI-FI HD are avail to AK and HI. Better late than never. :D:D:D

Does this mean that USA and SCIFI are now MPEG4 HD instead of MPEG2 HD? Do I need to go to 5502 and 5503 to see the MPEG4 feed or will it still map to the usual channels? I am not a big watcher of either channel but I hope to see even better video due to MPEG4. :)

Wow. More MPEG-4 SD local channels.

Doesn't look like any of the local HD channels originally announced for addition last week are getting added this week either. Maybe we'll start hearing announcements for those channels to be added some time next year on a new replacement satellite (and then never see the additions happen there either).

TRANSPONDER CHANGES

CHANGE Tp 1 EchoStar 5 129w ,8PSK SR 21500 FEC 2/3
TO Tp 1 EchoStar 5 129w ,QPSK SR 20000 FEC 5/6

ADD Tp 28 EchoStar 5 129w QPSK SR 20000 FEC 5/6

They have been MPEG4. These are apparently for Alaska and Hawai'i.

I thought they were already in MPEG4?

As for their positioning in the middle of the Alaska/Hawaii block, they're on a CONUS beam and they're both visible on my Pennsylvania subscription.

ION on 280 doesn't make much sense either, as 280 doesn't appear to be part of any thematic block at all. The only thing I can think of is if something else is coming that wanted to be on 181.

Sometimes my receiver defaults to the 110 position instead of 61.5 on USA and SCIfi. I wish it would stay on 110 because the tp on 61.5 is so weak. Can anybody explain why it would do that?

Just depends on which table entry the receiver sees first. It will flip flop back and forth as the receiver looks at the tables.

I'm assuming these are for the LiL only and not for superstation package subscribers right?

National channels that have local affiliates:

270 - Univision East
271 - Telefutura East
272 - Telefutura West
273 - Galavision East
280 - Ion East

280 is not available for me, while 181 is available.

So, it might be only for certain subscribers.

It's not in the guide either, so it is either " (H) " or " (NA) ".
