KCK, my baseball buddy.........how the hell are you!!!

Sorry about Tex, but your Angels should win that division by Memorial Day anyway.

Looking forward to a long summer of baseball!! :) :up

I am well, thanks. I have honestly lost my "joi de verve" since we got blown out so early in '08. I have a feeling I am not going to get too excited too soon this season.

With the winter we're having here in Detroit, I'm just looking forward to summer. Oh yeah, and I like what the Tigers did this off-season.

He said the other day that he is throwing with no pain. But it's a long way to April. Just the same, it's good news ,as is Zumaya reporting no pain also. He says he's throwing in the low 100's again. If that's all true, we may have solved our closer problem, and patched another hole in the rotation (Bonderman). If our pitching returns to '06 level, we can be contenders again. Pitching is everything in my book.

That's good news about both Bonderman and Zumaya. Both kids have dominating stuff.

And you never know about Dontrelle, he could turn it around in '09. God knows the guy has talent.

3 cheers for BillD!!!!!

Hip, Hip, Hurray!!!

Welcome back my man!!!!

Thanks again buddy!

And I wasn't blowing smoke before when I said if my Celtics don't win the championship........... NOTHING would make me happier than a Cleveland championship. :)

You are one of the most loyal fans I've seen anywhere........YOU deserve that championship! :up

After what I went through with the Red Sox, I can definitely feel your pain! :(

How about a Buffalo championship?

What I've lived through can rival HD's pain as a Cleveland fan.

I realize that buddy.

But HD is strictly a Cleveland sports fan. Your allegiances are more spread out.

If it makes you feel any better, I hope the Sabres win the Cup for your sake...........but ONLY if the Bruins are eliminated! ;):)

Great to see you back Bill. Can't wait to get your insight on an exciting college b-ball season.

I don't know about that.

Go A's!

Actually I think this year will be The Angels year.... although I do expect my A's to be more competitive than what a lot of people think they will be.

I hope to be wrong and see The A's win the division and not simply compete... I think it's very possible... but The Angels are still the favorite even in my mind.

Having said all this, Billy Beane has done a tremendous job reforming our farm system from one of the worst... to one of the very best in no time.

We have the pitching depth that's the envy of every organization in baseball

BaseballAmerica.com: Prospects: Prospect Hot Sheet: Prospect Hot Sheet: July 11

Read number four James Simmons for backup on what I state about our pitching depth. (and this isn't including the likes of Texas league pitcher of the year Vincent Mazzaro.. Jared Lansford and the list goes on... Our pitching depth is simply put scary.

We have a new "big three" coming.. perhaps as soon as sometime this season in Trevor Cahill, Brett Anderson and Vincent Mazzaro

Honestly regardless of what happens, baseball is by far my favorite sport... football being a very very distant second and I'm thrilled that it's right around the corner.

I am new to this site but I can't begin to explain how happy I am to have found a place where people have a passion for baseball. I am 62 years old and definitely from the old school and BASEBALL RULES. Please don't give me too much sh*t,but I am ready for the first championship in 101 years by my beloved CUBBIES. PLAY BALL !!!!!

Welcome my friend.

And I agree, this forum has assembled a great collection of minds to discuss the various topics we all love.

PS: Go Tribe! (I'm going to try and make arrangements to see my Indians at Wrigley Field when they play the Cubbies in June. Should be a good summer road trip.)
