Any HD Spotbeams reach North Louisiana?

I live in central North Louisiana 30 miles north of Monroe, LA.
Does any of these numbers below put me in a HD market if I "move"?
Any other possibilities I am over looking?
I have a OTA antenna but due to disability its not handy for me.

Satellite 129 spotbeam 16 pulls in 47% locked

Satellite 129 Transponder 15 reads 67% locked.

Satellite 129 spotbeam 14 reads 44% locked.

Is there a map where I can look at the spotbeam of 129 and other satellites such as 110 and 119 orbit

Those SS should give you a good picture. By the way those are transponder numbers and not spotbeam numbers. For ConUS beams a transponder can be used just once. For spotbeams, the same transponder numbers can be reused in different spotbeams which is why spotbeam satellites are very efficient for providing local TV channels. Spotbeam centers for 129W are here:

http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=29764&d=1222791518

To see a map of the beam, plug the SB number in place of the 44 in the template below:

http://www.satelliteguys.us/thelist/database/Subscription/images/CIEL2_SB44.jpg

If you look at The List! (see the tab at the top of the page) you will see that the beams and transponders that channels are on are noted. Digi also has links to some of the SB maps for 129W.

There are spotbeams maps floating about in the ethersphere if you do a search. There are some maps at dishuser.com as well:

Here's an Echstar 10 (110W) map:

16 is Memphis, TN in your area (posted above). And 14 is Nashville, TN I believe. Nothing else really active in your area yet.

So, have you moved somewhere else or are you just getting SD network channels through DISH and using an OTA for HD locals?

I'm Still waiting for Shreveport Channels in HD. I kinda think that "moving" is against the rules and I can get my HD's Via OTA (10' ant. on top of a 30' Mast with a rotor with a Channel master amp -Thank you Voom for all of that) so I'm sticking with them for now.

Spotbeam/ Transponder Question.

I understand a spotbeam is a way of delivering "locals" within a certain cone like a flashlight.
I sent these numbers the othe day:

Satellite 129 spotbeam 16 pulls in 47% locked (Memphis,TN, Area)
Satellite 129 Transponder 15 reads 67% locked.
Satellite 129 spotbeam 14 reads 44% locked.

Laddyboy SAID; By the way those are transponder numbers and not spotbeam numbers.
My Dish Receiver says SPOTBEAM 16, TRANSPONDER 15,SPOTBEAM14.

I am confused and feel a little "dumb".
Can someone explain why its listed as a spotbeam but actually a Transponder?
I believe according to a map of the satellitte at 129 degrees, Memphis is Spotbeam 37.
I need some education and please keep it on the common mans language of understanding
Thanks

Here is 37 http://www.satelliteguys.us/thelist/database/Subscription/images/CIEL2_SB37.jpg

I'll Do my Best.

The signal strength screen tells you if your getting a Conus transponder(transponder) or Spotbeam transponder(spotbeam). A spotbeam can have multiple transponders in it.

For example:
according to the list
Spotbeam 41 transmitts on transponders 2, 5,and 7
If you want to see what spotbeams are around us look at http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=29764&d=1222791518 this shows the middle of each spotbeam and you can see what spotbeams are near you.

P.S. A transponder (as I understand it) is a range of frequencies. A spotbeam is a transmission point(antenna) on the satellite.

If you have any more questions Post them and I'll try to help.

SB31 for 110W which is what the Dallas HD locals are currently on.
SB41 is the 129W beam that covers Dallas. There are no Dallas locals on that beam as of now.

So to check what signal I am getting out of Dallas, I go to 110/31, right? I am getting 28% there consistently, morning and night. What transponder do I check for the rest of my channels if I switch to Dallas? I need more than the locals, of course.

Thanks

Yes Transponder 31 on satellite 110. HD locals are the only thing from Dallas on that SB. All other programming, SD and HD, will be on ConUS beams on the three satellites that provide service to you. A signal strength of 28 isn't all that great.

28% isn't all that bad and it would work but the lower you go the more prone to rain fade it is.

The Dallas SD's are also on Spot 21 - Transponder 20. Not sure if you need those.

You can give Dallas a shot and it should work fine. I know the Fort Smith, AR locals were added to SB 37 TP 3 on 129...which I think you had a 40+ on the signal.

Were the ft smith turned on on 129 yet.?
A friend of mine was asking. Last i saw they werent available yet.

Dallas, right now, is pulling a 28 percent signal and Fort Smith 42%. IT is so windy out that our OTA antenna isnt able to keep the network signals at all.

So Fort Smith, Arkansas has ABC/CBS/NBC and FOX in HD? IF so, that signal is so much stronger than Dallas that I think I should move there.

Hmmmm?

Forgive my ignorance here, but I thought that you had to take the locals from the DMA that you lived in. These posts sound like people are checking out all the locals in their region. Do you have an option to choose?
