fwiw, I'm back on the "NR" as I keep losing my Play list, now I have more pressing issues, 2 of my local OTA channels won't come in, but they are fine thru the TV tuner.

Has anyone seen this problem?

This is the first I've tried MRV since they changed to a unified playlist.

I enabled it via the MRVCLIENTON, then turned on in the Misc Options menu, and my playlist is completely blank.

The bar still shows 53% available (and 71% on the other dvr), but no programs show.

The only way I can get my playlist back is to turn off MRV on the unit (same on the other).

Anyone seen this? Any ideas?

Both units HR20-700.

Report # 20090614-3B5
Report # 20090614-272B (second unit)

You know what, you just reminded me ... I turned the MRV thing on a few weeks ago and I have been losing my Playlist each time I do a CE and have to revert back to the NR to get it back.
Hadn't thought about turning the MRV off ... (i'm really not using it at this point anyways).

I will d/l next weeks CE with the MRV OFF and see if I lose my Playlist again or not.

Sent error report.

Painfully slow VOD. Qued up Nurse Jackie HD episode 2 tonight, 30 minute show, it's now been an hour and a half and it still is at only 78%. This is on a 3.0 M DSL line. Should take no more that 10 minutes to download unless there is a problem on D's server side.

Pair of HR20-100's. Network is hardwired with regular molded cables to Netgear 10/100 full duplex switch thats connected to an Asus router running DD-WRT. Only other things active on the network was a Roku player sitting at the menu and an xbox-360 running a local game.

Reports:

20090616-2DFE ("UPSTAIRS")
20090616-1DAA ("DOWNSTAIRS")

Was watching a show upstairs, fed by MRV from downstairs. At 37 minutes the playback stopped, sitting on a single frame. Trickplay would change the time and move the indicator, but it stuck on that frame. Pause/play ineffective. Hit exit and list, and saw that the receiver only had its playlist. Downstairs unit had a combined playlist and I was able to play shows via MRV from the upstairs unit.

Redid the network setup and advanced network setup, no problems reported. Trying to start network services, the downstairs unit would while the upstairs unit failed.

Both successfully sent a report, so the networking seems to be working.

Edit: Rebooting the upstairs unit (the mrv receiver) didnt resolve the problem, still had only the local playlist. Rebooting the downstairs unit (the mrv server) did fix it.

This is similar to a problem I had on last weeks CE, so its recurrent and not something new introduced this week.

Report Key: 20090616-12E5

I ran OTA setup again because, prior to analog shut off, my FOX channel was broadcast digitally on channel 51. They petitioned the FCC to move back to channel 11 after the analog shut off. Now that they are on 11 again I figured I would try to make work since I was just receaving "search for signal" on this channel.

I now have no OTA channels on my HR21 w/ AM21. It scanns but the Antenna Setup menu appears as if no scan was done and only allows me to go to the initial setup.

Ran Initial setup 2X and was able to get my OTA channels back on the CE. Thanks to Jimbo for the help. :)

Having had a chance to use it a lot today after a hiatus of a week or two, MRV is much glitchier than it has been. Lots of video splats. Maybe 8-10 per hour. Going back 2 weeks+ it was maybe 2-3 an hour tops.

Going back to my last post (#53) on reboot of both boxes, MRV started working again both ways.

Weird thing thats started happening is that half the time when I watch something on the upstairs box from the downstairs box, I get the AKE failed message. Second attempt to play always works. Tried restarting the router and switch, same problem.

Tomorrow I'll power everything down and restart it all. Unless that resolves it, it looks like there may be some MRV issue that persists after a reboot.

Rebooted everything. MRV didnt want to work either way. Tried direct wiring the HR's together. MRV still wouldnt come up at all, nothing in either playlist except local. Went back to using the switch/router. Both boxes see the internet and can download VOD fine. No MRV.

Turned MRV off/on via the Misc menu and both sides MRV came up, worked fine the rest of the day.

Report: 20090618-1DF2

Advanced scheduled movies for the preview weekend, using the "your receiver may not be authorized for this, schedule it anyway" approach. All movies showed in the to-do list.

When I checked this morning, the first was showing in the to-do list as recording and could be played from there. However, its not in the playlist either before or after playing from the to-do list. Space has dropped from 49% to 47%, so its showing there.

I hope all the preview weekend recordings arent like this, as I imagine they wont work with MRV if they arent in the playlist.

Same report as above, persistent VOD problems over the last month on CE. Havent used VOD that much before so cant say how far back it goes.

Downloaded VOD shows persistently have video glitches or areas where the audio drops out for 1-4 seconds. Common problem is for the audio to go away, video only for 3-4 seconds and then it rewinds, glurps for a second and then replays that same 3-4 seconds of video with the audio.

Happens on both boxes with all VOD content, every show, 3-5 glitches per hour of show minimum. I've seen other people report this same VOD problem. Doesnt seem to happen with regularly recorded content, I rarely get a glitch with that. Glitches are in the same place every time, so its from the recording rather than a random playback glitch.

Odd considering you'd think a downloaded program would be the ideal, perfect image to playback, and the stuff i'm having trouble with is all SD content, most of it my kids animation shows.

Same report as above. My History list is laden with shows reported to be "canceled by viewer". Nobody in the household canceled any of these shows and many of them were 'canceled' when we were asleep.

Havent reviewed the canceled shows enough to see if the 'cancel' notice was an erroneous reason (like it was a repeat instead of canceled by viewer), if the show actually did record after all since sometimes the history says a show wasnt recorded when it was, or if it was a legitimate show that should have recorded and didnt because the unit thought it had been canceled by one of us.
