I dunno if it is just me but has any one notice if you tube and google are loading slow? Just wanna know if everyone is experiencing this or if it is just me and my connection. Thanks.

Oh yes, and it's terrible! For the past five days, google, youtube, and twitter have all been broken!

They just sit there on Loading... forever. They seem to get to about halfway on loading, and just stay. They never load.

Youtube has been slow for me for the past few months, with over 80% of the videos not even loading as fast as they play. Now I'm lucky I can even access the home youtube page!

I cannot search efficiently anymore or watch youtube videos anymore... nevermind not being able to check one of my email accounts.

It also appears to only be affecting CFL RR users.

There was about a 30 second piece on the outage/slowdown on WFTV, 12-27-09 about 6.10 pm.

It said basically nothing. BHN will not return their calls, starting yesterday.

BHN's silence for nearly two days on this issue, followed by evasive, uninformative "answers," clearly represents their disdain for their customers, or their incompetence, or both.

Their PIO should be fired unless he/she was muzzled by higher management, in which case THEY should be fired.

There is a possibility this is all due to inability to figure out what was wrong. See 'incompetence' above.

Youtube videos refusing to buffer has been a major issue in my home for many months and nothing I do can fix it completely. I'm in the Tampa Bay market by the way. Also the only thing I've been able to do is switch my DNS servers using both OpenDNS and Level3 DNS servers. This tends to allow the playback to finish to the end just barely before stopping and stuttering starts but not all the time.

I'm almost sure this is because of throttling of some sorts because Netflix WatchNow for example has never had problems (including Netflix WatchNow HD) even during peak hours of internet traffic. Many times quite a few of my sites refuse to load including Bank Of America when trying to view my credit card statements when it connects to the East Coast secure server.

Its another reason I'm most likely switching to FIOS once I have it available to me. Remember I have the 40Mbps service so youtube video playback and buffering should never be an issue with the kind of bandwidth google provides for their youtube service.

Pause a youtube video.
right click on the video
click 'settings'
find the icon for 'local storage'
change it to 10 MB

solved my problem

I apologize...didn't know that.

I have also personally noticed these slowdowns for months now and ever since till now it has been the same. idk what happen.

i would assume Google/you-tube are having problems catching up with bandwidth or they have limited bandwidth to each connection on them sites per computer connected to the site. it is especially even slower on hq and hd mode.

I have also noticed the slowdown on some other video sites. i kno for a fact it ain't my connection because it happens on any pc i use on my friends computers on their internet.

so something is up, but we do not know about it, because it is an obvious problem many people all over is dealing with, but that has not been talked about. just like anything else here on the states, they quietly pull stuff, but the average consumer tends to notice it.

just like food to use as analogy. they keep the same prices on certain items on the supermarkets but always knock off an oz or 2, to keep a product the same price, even thought it cost more if you getting less even if your paying the same, get me?, even if u barely notice it. those who buy something for a long time would notice the amount of a product is less/ does new to it, wouldn't matter. hope it makes sense lol

unless all internet providers are messing with bandwidth caps on some sites... another thing I've noticed, ever since the change of flash based sites where everything just pops up without the needs of pluggins etc, it tends to also slow down connection/with making pc's hotter and since you tube is based on all flash now it could make sense on buggin down the site. just a thought.

I found something interesting. am trying it and believe it or not i have been getting the loads that we are all used to.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

when watching a new video on a different new page, make sure on lower right corner somewhere it says, you are part of the feather betta or of course on the link itself make sure u are. some pages that wont show it, just doesn't support it.
