Hi guys,

A couple of days ago it looks like Dish pushed out a software update for my 722, because pressing the guide button twice now brings up a menu instead of cycling through the favorites lists. However, this isn't the problem - the problem is that every the box reboots at night, it's switching into single mode instead of dual mode. Also, if I power off tuner 1 with the remote, when powering back on it's going directly to the Point Dish menu page, and I have to hit cancel 3 times to get back to the programming....very odd behavior. any ideas what's causing it, and what I can do to fix it?

Since they have come out the 722 has not performed as well as hoped, but the 722K series seems a bit better.
That is an odd issue. Try the standard tricks, soft reset (hold power button in for 10 seconds, release, allow receiver to reboot.) Or you can do the hard reset (unplug, plug back in.)
The satellite receivers actually power themselves down at a set time so they can take software downloads usually in the AM hours. Verify that it is getting good signal from all the correct satellites so it can get the needed updates. Have you ran a check switch test? You can do it from the Point Dish screen that it keeps taking you back to each morning.
Sounds like you may need another receiver if it doesn't clear up.

I meant from my end. I can't speak for anyone else. I have not been impressed with the 722. I have had to replace far more 722's that I have 722K's. If you have had good luck with them, that's great.

Just an update, I did a check switch and hard reboot yesterday, and this morning the receiver was still in dual mode and no "Point Dish" screen on tuner 1. Hopefully that's the end of it....
