If I only have one receiver (and a package) - that is free right - i.e. no monthly charge?
But if it is a duo receiver then I pay extra or not?

Then if I upgrade to a 722K Duo DVR (as my only receiver) - what should I have to pay per month. DVR fee?

I think Dish needs to hire someone in marketing who can create a simple matrix so we all know what would happen to our bill. Or better yet an on-line estimater - select your (desired) equipment and package and your costs are tabulated.

How hard would that be? Ford Chrylser GM websites can price you a vehicle on-line for pity sake.

BTW - Dish Network people - if your are listening and you implement this idea - how about free service for life? Thank you - your welcome. Think of all the money you will save from reduced Customer Service calls.

Echostar Pricing Calculator

The price calculator will not let you select the HD DVR you want, I do not want a 612 for my HD TVs.

It isn't really the exact model that matters with the caculator, as long as you pick a receiver that fits in the following categories.

Keep in mind that if you have more than one receiver, the most expensive one will be the one included "free" in your package.

Duo DVR $17
Single DVR $14
Duo $10
Single $7

For example even though I'm not HD, I have the 625 as my primary. You can't choose that particular receiver, but as long as it is a Duo DVR you are good.

There is a link to a 3rd party calculator on here somwhere that is a little more user friendly.

Yes it does. In a way.

Select the option for a second SDTV and the 612 changes to a 622. The monthly fee is the same as a 722 or 722K.

The main thing to know is the first (most expensive / most features) receiver (not tuner) is free.

so say i wanted the family pack channels will be $24.99 plus $5.00 tv connection fee and sales tax if i used a 322 dou reciever? is that right or wrong? only one reciever

I don't see what is so confusing. I have been selling Dish for 5 years and the pricing is more simple now than it has been the last 2 years.

I think it is a little confusing. I have a 722 and a 508 (SD DVR, 1 tuner), Top 100 and HD Bronze. The pricing model makes it look like I will have a price increase of $1 but the CSR said it will increase $2 for the 2nd DVR. Not a big deal in the scheme of things.

To be fair, the model they use on the pricing calculator assumes that people would only want a "DuoDVR" if they are back-feeding it to another SD TV, which is in many instances not true.

I have two HDTVs, each with a DuoDVR (love my PiP and hard drive space), and in order to properly represent my pricing scheme, I have to tell it to add two invisible SDTVs. Not a big deal, but not how I would have structured the calculator.
