Setanta Sports / FSC+ Update

I went and used a Slingbox to dial into a showroom box to try seeing the crawl. Setanta sports is one of the few channels they don't activate for retailers, so I couldn't see it.

No crawl at the moment on Setanta on Dish.

If the crawl did not mention or imply Dish Network, then it could have originated at Setanta, since it will be replaced by FS+ directly on both FIOS and DirecTV.

Anyone knows what will happen to programs recorded from Setanta on the dvr once Setanta is gone? Will they still be viewable?

Yes, it will be listed as recorded on "Channel 001-00".

I have had heard about DVRs that needed to be connected to an active satellite feed in order to playback recordings, but never one that won't show recordings from old channels.

For example, you can subscribe to HBO for 3 months, record a season of "True Blood" and then watch them on your DVR when you are no longer subscribed to HBO.

Ironically, the crawl was during the self-promo for Setanta "born out of the love for the game" with the "We Will Be There" lyric in the background.

I, for one, will miss Setanta.

I, for one, will miss Setanta.

I miss the old Setanta that had all the resources of Setanta UK, like a competing Setanta Sports News and with "Special 1 TV".

The current lame dying Setanta will be better replaced by Fox Soccer Plus with hopefully HD in the near future.

Indeed!

Hope the HD comes soon. (without the sarcasm ;) )

The Crawl says:

...In its place, Dish Network is excited to bring you Fox Soccer Plus (FOXS+) at no extra cost.

I hope that at least means Dish Latino subs still get it for $9.95 per month.

Is it EVEN POSSIBLE to think they managed to get it on a tier, and it won't cost anything??? :D

I am now hearing from sources that its a done deal, but don't know any specifics. When I hear specifics I will let you know. :D
