I was just on the Dish website and noticed that a Franklin County, PA ZIP (ex. 17201) shows only Harrisburg locals. Franklin County used to be unusual as it qualified for Harrisburg and Washington DC locals.

Has Dish actually changed this county to only get one set of locals? If so, did any existing local subs lose channels, or is this change only for new subscribers?

Could Dish subs there actually purchase 2 local markets? Or was the price inclusive of 2 markets?

If its a 1 for 1 swap, I doubt existing local subs lost channels. Or all of a sudden one morning woke up to a new set of locals from a different market. :)

I know someone in Princeton with NY locals with DirecTV. He got DirecTV through Verizon so that may have affected the situation.

With his actual Princeton address, he was assigned to NY locals, but directv.com says that zip code is Philadelphia. I still wonder how that happened, but I'm sure he'd be upset to lose NY locals for Philadelphia, as he commutes northwards not southwards on a daily basis and the NY news and weather is more useful. And he is originally from an area north of Princeton so is used to NY channels. Fios and cable in Mercer County carry both stations, I don't think DirecTV sells both together. The way is likely OTA module but that's too DIY for a non technical person.

Without calling in and specifically asking the CSR to re-check for locals and change, I don't think change happens.
