I signed up four months ago. When I did I could have gotten up to three rooms in HD for free. I only had one HDTV so I got a 722. I just got a HDTV fir the bedroom and wanted to get an HD receiver. 50 bucks plus extend my contract? Four months ago I could have gotten it free. I find that unacceptable. If they don't add my HD locals soon it will be so long dish

Yeah I've been with Dish for awhile and could have gotten a Free HD upgrade a few months ago but wanted to wait. Now they want to charge me $99 to upgrade. Seems they have changed there way of not wanting to retain existing customers?

You knew the deal when you signed up, now you added a TV and want the same deal. I understand it, but that is the way it goes. The bigger concern for me would be the locals. A lack of locals would have kept me from signing up since you usually don't know when they will be added to your area.

Yeah, I messed up with the locals too. Direct added my locals in HD in dec. When I called dish and they said they've had my locals since aug. Well I sign up get installed, then I find out that they are only sd. Whoops. Too late, locked into a contract now. I should have dug deeper before I did that. I was too blinded by the cheaper prices. If my locals don't light up by sept I'm out. I'd do it now to get the EI deal with direct, but 300 ETF Is just too much to swallow

When you're new, both Sat companies will roll out the red carpet... Now you're 4 months into a contract, and they're not going to do you any favors. DirectTV is the same way. It sucks, but....
