At the end of the tenth season of CSI, Langston was stabbed and left for dead by serial killer Nathan Haskell (Bill Irwin). At the Television Critics Association press tour, Robert David Hall revealed that his character, Dr Al Robbins, will share an emotional scene with Langston when he visits the wounded CSI in the hospital. Meanwhile, Haskell will be back for the premiere, and he'll also appear in three more episodes during the season that lead into the introduction of Langston's wife. "Toward the end of the season, Mrs. Langston will play a pivotal role," explained showrunner Carol Mendelsohn.
Finally, Mendelsohn has been speaking with Jorja Fox (Sara) about how to explain to the audience why Sara has been apart from her husband Grissom for so long. Unfortunately, she has so far been unsuccessful in her repeated attempts to sway William Petersen back for a guest spot to explain the divide.
Sela Ward says her new CSI: NY character is divorced. "And she has a son who is 18 or 19 who she adopted from a person she helped put away," says Sela, who suspects the child's parent most likely will be sprung from the slammer wanting to reclaim the kid.
As mentioned before, CSI is getting a new lab tech. Sienna Guillory has been cast as BABE Kacey Monohan—that stands for Ballistics, Arson, Bombs and Explosives technician.

Happy to announce black Sqweegel from L26: Dark Origins will appear on CSI on 10/14/10. Stay tuned to be scared to death.
He's staying put. In fact, sounds like he's getting a promotion. "We're focusing primarily on the core team this season, and I want to bring Hodges more into that core group," says exec producer Carol Mendelsohn, who adds that Vassey will be back in episode 2 to wrap up Wendy's story line. "I think fans will be satisfied. She will be able to say goodbye to Hodges, and Hodges will take his anger and heartbreak out on a fellow tech."
Overall, Zuiker said CSI fans are in for an "explosive" eleventh season. "Justin Bieber stars in the premiere. We have a shark in a pool. A day club gone wild. We're doing an episode about a vampire and werewolf convention," he revealed. "The shows are going to be fun, Vegas-centric, and very character-driven."
