Cool ad, but not a lot of info...kind of a teaser. Probably will peak interest in it.

I remember watching that "making of the HBO promo" back in the day. It was pretty cool to see all that went into it with the models and stuff.

I remember watching that "making of the HBO promo" back in the day. It was pretty cool to see all that went into it with the models and stuff.

And here it is...

YouTube - ?HBO Intro: Behind the Scenes?‎

The XStreamHD gives me the same type of feeling that the HBO intro did. Remember when it was special to go to the movies? I miss that, I hope XStreamHD brings back that feeling again.

> The beginning of the promo reminds me a lot of the HBO Intro from 1983.

I remember that as kid. It always grabbed my attention when channel surfing in the 80's.

No meat. In today's economy you have to show value ie netflix $12.00 per month for unlimited rentals of blue ray discs can xtreamhd offer the same value? If not it will be gone by next year.

But with Netflix new releases are delayed 90 days... while on XStreamHD they are available on the day of release.

Thats some meat. :)

Also on vudu and dish new releases are available right away. It is pricing that will determine xtreamhd success. Movies rental cannot be higher than $4.99 per month or again this service will fail.

Last time I checked Vudu New releases were $8.99 and $11.99 for HD...

Scott vudu never charge $.8.99 for new releases. their highest blueray like hd rental is $5.99. Their lowest fee to own the movie is $8.99.

Will we be able to watch the movies on xstream hd once you pay the $6.99 rental fees? If true then xstreamhd maybe something to get.

No delays with Blockbuster Online, and it's cheaper than Netflix (no streaming options, though).

Scott

I agree. I have the blockbuster $19.99 plan (games and movies) and have gotten both Date Night and the Last Song shipped on release day. (Shocked as I expected to wait a while for both.)

Also I use VUDU a lot and it is only $5.99 for a same day release and the streaming is instant. I imagine that with XSTREAM it will have to download the day before to the hard drive or it would take time before you could actually watch the movie.

If the XSTREAM stays on the hard drive indefinitely for $5.99 for multiple views then it could be beneficial but otherwise, as said before, the pricing is a bit high.
