An HD Gui, would that be listed in the New features, it's NOT a feature.... I suppose it would be listed under Improved though !

You could call it a new feature, or an improvement.
Most likely, however, is that they won't mention it at all to not drive huge participation from the gate, a practice they have used several times. Also possible is a keyword hidden feature, much like the youtube testing, though this may not be possible for something as large as the user interface.
I wondered about that too.....
Too many people come and get the CE ONLY for the NEW stuff ...

Jimbo I was talking about the actual download. I've never had it take more than a few seconds to actually find the new SW, but it took over 10 minutes to do the actual download/install this time, which is longer than it usually takes for a given update.

I've got to where I wait at least 10 minutes past the hour before trying to dl... last night I was a little over an hour late starting the dl.
I have been waiting till 5 after the hour, but may start waiting a little longer... it could be that they are not implementing it into the stream right away.
How do you do a manual software update on the DirecTv receivers? I have 4 HR24/100 and 1 regular HD receiver.
It did not come this week, I take it?

I have tried several times to get my HR24-100 do force a software and no luck. As soon as I reset the receiver I see the Hello screen and I start hitting 0 2 4 6 8 and it does not go to the download. The hello screen comes and goes to quick. Is the 0x4a7 the latest software?
just keep trying sometimes it doesnt do it right away for me i just redo it and it works
you need to start the 0 2 4 6 8 sequence right when the blue light on the receiver face come back, not once a screen pops up
