Hey guys I'm having a issue with my 722K and was hoping for some answers. It seems like at least once a week I get the message"your program guide on your hard drive is outdated" so I go ahead and do the update but I'm curious why this is happening so often? It dosent seem to be doing it on my other two receivers (211K). Thanks

It could be a sign of a hard drive that is starting to fail. Do you power it off every night? Also are you updating the guide with the update button or running a check switch test?

I never power it off and do the updates when Im prompted to on screen(usually when I'm scrolling through the guide and about 2 days out I get the message then the prompt asking me if I want to update the guide). I was thinking the same about the hard drive going bad. Its a shame because I have only had the 722K for about 3 months,

I've found that if my ViP622 is left tuned an OTA channel (this happens often during the network TV season), this happens more frequently.

If this is the problem (and I suspect that it is), a workaround would be to schedule an autotune for a satellite channel at the end every night.

I would recommend turning it off every night and that should stop this problem.

Well that is interesting as over the last couple of weeks I have had the program guide not be up to date a couple of times and sure enough I have been using the OTA channels alot. Will have to try your suggestion.

not to pick nits or hairs ... but are you sure that's what you meant? and not the "is the receiver set to do updates every night?" ... because during the updates, the receivers reboot. In reality, at no time other than power unplugged, are dish receivers really "off", and there are some conditions that only a power pull.. seems to fix. (yay dish! :) lol.)

If the 722K the OP has is like my 612, there is no option to turn off the updates. I suppose in theory you can keep changing the time ahead to avoid.......

But, I couldn't agree more about unplugging sometimes being the only way to get things right again. I have a timer on two of my receivers for just that reason, something I started back with my 508's, and seemed to substantially help the hiccups.
