Anyone in Erie, PA who watches the Sabres games on direct tv? Where can I find the games, I only find Rangers games on MSG.

There are two MSG channels, MSG and MSG+. Have you checked them both? Also, there are overflow channels when necessary. Check the guide.
also check NBC, ESPN, Versus, NHLTV (not all EPG listings will have the exact team's name for searching, it may say 'Hockey Night', 'NHL Hockey', 'NHL Preseason Hockey', 'Hockey', etc as examples only) you can use the team's website, TitanTV or HDsportsguide to find games as well
MSG Buffalo is different than the NYC MSG. When I had DirecTV a couple of years back the Sabres Games had their own channel that was separate from the main MSG feed. Try your RSN alternate channel 627 the next time the Sabres are on.
Sabres games, regular season, are on 638-1. To my knowledge, only one or two preseason games have been on TV, last night's game was not on.
thanks for all the help here, I did a search and found oct 7 game on channel 694 or 692. which I set to record. Trouble is, when I went to these channels to see what is on these today, I got a message saying I wasn't subscribed to either one of these channels. weird.
wait til mid next week.....then the games will pop in on the right channel (638). Games on the alternate channels take a while to update in the guide
Unless I read it incorrectly; according to the online tool you don't get those channels in your package

that's what everyone said when I had the Dish network, when they had MSG, I got it then, it was an alternate channel listing.
When a game isnt on a "main" RSN (one that D* carries 24/7) info can pop up the day of the game. I know as example there is a college football game I am watching right now. It is on CSN Chicago Alt (666) but the HD feed said TBA. This morning the HD info popped up on 666-1
In the case of the Sabres wait til about Tuesday or Wednesday and it should start popping in guide info for those games. Usually then it will have a weeks worth of info in there. But it will be on 637 or 638. Its labelled "NYAlt"

Buffalo is playing in Europe this week; they just left yesterday. The two regular season games to played there this week are Friday at 1pm edt is Anaheim in Helsinki and Saturday at 2pm edt is LA Kings in Berlin. The tuesday exhibition game against Adler played in Mannheim Germany (Hecht's hometown) at 1:30 edt is not being televised as far as I know.
the Friday game should be on 694, but i didn't think Erie will get it, and Sat game will be on MSG @ 11:30 on a little tape delay
The 694 feed is Anaheim's so it would be blocked out for Buffalo.. As of now my guide is showing that ch 638 & 638-1 (HD feed) will have the game also.
And if it goes as it did last year, during the Center Ice free trial NYC MSG viewers can see Sabres games thru MSG and Buffalo area can see NYC area teams. This ability seems to turn off after free preview ends and you don't subscribe to CI.

NHL Center Ice IMHO is the best value of any sports season package. If I subbed to MBL Extra Innings, I have to deal with blackouts of all NY Teams, Pittsburgh and Cleveland on the package. Center Ice; the only blackout I deal with is, that I have to watch any game in which Buffalo plays. on MSG-Buffalo.
