Known issue with dishonline.com preventing connecting to DVRs to manage recordings?

DRA on my DroidX and dishonline.com on the pc have not worked for at least 2 weeks maybe longer. Glad I didn't actually have to pay for the sling adapter, id really be pissed..

Ross .... what happens if you try to use Dish Remote Access via web?

dish.sling.com

Login is your email address & password as Dish Network knows it..

You can also try the original web DRA link
https://customersupport.dishnetwork.com/customercare/equipment/processSatTimer.do

If neither gets you in, and dish.sling.com doesn't recognize you, try creating an account for yourself at watch.slingbox.com ... using the same email address and password you use with Dish Network ... and then try dish.sling.com again..

When you get connected to Dish Remote Access ... you may have to "refresh" or try selecting (presuming you have more than one) a different Dish Receiver ... if not, logout/in again, hit refresh .. you're looking to see if you can get the back end servers to recognize you and your sling..

I have been private messaging the DIRT team about just this issue. One of my 722's would connect To DRA and dishonline and the other would not. The one working was via homeplug, the other a network bridge. Both were definitely online and both could access video-on-demand.

I was asked to plug my receiver directly into my router. Yesterday prior to doing that, I tried something else. I unplugged my network bridge from my receiver and plugged my receiver into the electrical outlet on the side of the house where home plug works, using the same outlet as my other 722. Lo and behold dishonline and DRA worked. I then went back to using my network bridge and plugged my receiver back into my power supply. Dishonline and DRA still worked. I couldn't understand it. Now it now looks like they may have simply fixed something yesterday that I was unaware of. I never checked to see if the two websites worked before I did my experiment.

DRA, DO, iPad & iPhone still don't work for me. It's ridiculous. This should have been fixed by now. How can they have such low standards for themselves?

Oh well. It's just TV. It only costs $120 per month.

Yes, totally.....Ive been down for 2 weeks and now going into 3rd.....I like paying $200 for the 922, and the extra $4, for what? Being able not get BBMP? I want to see this business model !!

I was able to use Dishonline today & was able to see my receiver....playback a recording & also set timers. This was basically down for sometime. In the past...I was able to see the DVR...but dishonline never displayed any recording or existing timer. I was able to click on refresh button & use to get them on dishonline...but then my DVR guide was screwd up...with all channels showing "No info available" & needed check switch & redownload of guide to fix that.

Havent check the DVR still.....since not at home

Same problem here

I have been seeing a YELLOW or GRAY/BLACK DVR at the top of my iPhone or iPad for weeks now and cannot connect. Unless I first (each and every day at some point) go into Settings on the DVR and reset network connection. It will then work until next day when I have to do that again. Anybody got any idea what is going on? The only far fetched thing I know is that my dish is ever so slightly out of alignment and occassionally I'll lose connection. I have the maintenance service so I need to call them out to align but again, resetting the network connection work everytime...but again, I have to do this each and every day for weeks. Not fun being somewhere else where I can't reset that back at home to view my sling. I have a 722 box with the sling adapter. Worked great for some time.

One other slight complaint is that early on with my 400kb upload speed for broadband at home I would use my Iphone via 3G and get a solid connection and watch a show on the DVR without problems. About 3 - 4 months ago suddenly I get messages on the iPhone saying slow connection (or similar). Did Sling/Dish require faster uploads for this service now or something? Works great via WIFI while say in bed but not via 3G or anywhere else outside my network.

I would say you should consider yourself lucky that it works at all!

I just checked, and Dish Online is working for me again on my 722 -- I'm not sure WHEN it became functional again since I hadn't tried in a while, but it seems to be back. Knock on wood...

Just got off live chat with a level 2 tech. Both DRA and DOL are not able to access the dvr. It is a known issue.

Randy (ID: 9EA): I will be happy to assist you today. Please give me a moment to access your account and review the information you have already provided.
Dan Warren: ok
Randy (ID: 9EA): Thanks.
Dan Warren: I think my problem is a known problem.
Randy (ID: 9EA): Ok.
Randy (ID: 9EA): Yes, that is a problem with the website that we are working on.
Randy (ID: 9EA): But you may still be able to at least watch live TV.
Randy (ID: 9EA): But the DVR events wont' show up, because the site is detecting the receiver as offline.
Randy (ID: 9EA): I have the same problem with my own equipment as well.
Randy (ID: 9EA): But our web engineering team is working on resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
Randy (ID: 9EA): I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Dan Warren: Dish Remote Access used to work. now that doesn't
Randy (ID: 9EA): That is the same issue.

If it's a known issue, why don't they just tell everybody on the DishOnline website???

"DishOnline is currently having technical difficulties... :( We expect to be back online in 2012."

They are so pitiful.

or at least explain WTF is wrong that causes Joe Smith *not* to get connected while *I* can with minimal issue every time?

that's what doesn't make sense the most.. what the hell is it, that they've done or NOT done, that makes it so YOU are screwed while I'm not. Working with one of the other users here.. it was clear dish *IS* seeing his box, dish/sling *IS* connecting to get access to Live TV via the Sling.. so what next part is it, that isn't giving access to the DVR part?

Its almost like they did something seriously stupid... like maybe the copied the coding from watch.slingbox.com ... which by default disables the ability to control the DVR functions because they presume you have a slingbox, which doesn't have *software* controls for the DVR (presumed they send those to an IR Blaster type unit at the DVR)

No kidding. And it's not like it never worked for me... It was rock-solid for me for the longest time. But not anymore! I think they screwed something up when they added BBMP.
