Hello, Does anyone knows why there's no SAP in Dish network HD Channels? I can have SAP in the SD Channel for example channel 300 HBO in SD but the same channel in HD does not have SAP. Same problem in all HD channels but just a few dedicated for Spanish channels :( Thank you very much for the response.

Space issues ! DTV as more HD with spanish then dish. I submitted a resolution to dish that would fix the issues and make it win for existing customers or new subs from DTV but they never replied. It would solve this problem and not take up any more space then what they are currently using just a small trick at the head end. but it could posibly put them in breach of contract if they dont get an ok from the brodcasters.

SAP audio shouldn't take up enuff bandwidth to make any difference. Sounds like they don't have the equipment to insert it into the stream.

yes in sd not much but the feed they get is full 7.1 -5.1 DD vbr is 400k-1.2m for audio x 2 for each channel that is already pushing the Tp the limit without the spanish.

I could be wrong on why they dont have sap mabe one of the dirt team can do some digging and ask some one at dish that might have a clue about the situation and not some canned yes/no man.

I agree, hopefully someone from Dish could reply with some guidance or answers. Again thank you very much all for answers or clues on this.

I haven't upgraded for that reason, usually I buy my equipment. So I won't upgrade until they fix this problem. Other option is to switch to Sky (if available), their Hd selection keeps getting better.

Asked Dish Customer Service

Well...I went and asked Dish network about this and below is their response: Dear Mr. Perez, Thank you for taking the time to contact us. DISH Network is continually adding new channels, and we appreciate your feedback. We have submitted your request for SAP HD to our programming department. They will use this information to determine which specific channels are in high demand, and which channels we will offer in the future. Please visit dishnetwork.com to view all the channels and programming we offer. Thank you for your email. Sincerely, Charles Drake V. OPID:SD2 TID : OR-Cadillac DISH Network eCare

goddamn thats funny. So a blanket letter with "SAP HD" added in it. They think its actually a channel ;)

So, taking a poll - now that the request was submitted to the programming dept, how long do you think it will take to get the new SAP HD channel? ;)

Dish might think its a new shopping channel
Shopping At (the trailer) Park

but I betcha this....SAP HD will get added before another sports channel in HD does :p
