They played interleague play 50 years ago?

Sent from my SGH-T989 using SatelliteGuys

The game is played the same way 50 years ago.... 9 innings, 9 players, balls and strikes and singles to homeruns. Nothing has changed in 100 years other than the addition of the DH.

The game is still the same.

if it was the same it would have been played at 1:05....actually Cincy would have started at 12:05 as they use to be the 1st team to start the season ;)
So this game would have been 2nd

That has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with the owners pet as a commissioner. ;-)

I have two opinions this morning to which anyone is welcomed to respond. :behindsofa:

1.) Marlins Park was designed to be Miami flavored...not a retro-brick walled Honus Wagner could have played here stadium. Ballparks are now (hopefully) going to infuse the local flavor into their appearance as they rebuild or remodel. To me Marlins Park has the same local flavor of it's city as Citi Field does of the Big Apple. Not retro but reflective of it's people and locale. But, I agree with all who dislike that HR "artwork".

2.) I just might be able to LISTEN to Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN for the first time in ages. In think Tito brings great presence, knowledge and humor to the team. His explanations of various things basbeball are down-to-earth and blue collar. He does not pontificate the way BV did. There is good chemistry and seemingly alot of fun in that booth now. Looks like no more SNB with music anymore for me.

Yeah, but Bobby V. invented the wrap sandwich. :laser: Take that Tito!

True, but it is still one ugly color. The color is not as bad as that ugly Flamingo thing in centerfield that lights up when a Marlin hits a HR (which seems like an impossible feat in that stadium, BTW).

Mr. Johnny Bench man crush Joe Morgan was the one I was glad to see go. It seemed like every inning he had to mention something about the Big Red Machine or bring up racial disparity or inequity in baseball. It got old really quick.

Excellent points. The green color was more for the ocean color, though I do have a strange feeling that the aqua color would have been easier on the eyes. As far as that ugly-Brazilian Carnival Float-pretending-to-be-a-homerun-celebration... let's not even get into that conversation. EVERYONE in Miami hates it. I suppose everyone will get use to it...but JHC, that thing is hideous!

My 1st of my partial season ticket package games are next week... hopefully, I will not puke after staring at like you do a south beach tranny and trying to figure out if it is a he or a she.

Damn... sorry of I went there....

Cannot believe how many are picking my Dodgers to go to the playoffs. I wish I had the same amount of confidence

Cincy fans have Miami Union rep John Buck to thank for the 4:05PM start. The Marlins had every right to demand a 7:05PM start due to the late game in Miami the night before. When asked to have a 1:05PM start Buck siad an absolute no because the team (understandably) needed their rest. When presented with the story of the tradition of a day game start after a parade, Buck consulted with the team and a 4:05PM start was granted.

Mediocre first start by Strasburg: he gave up a run, only struck out five, and never even hit 100 MPH on the radar gun . ;)

Kershaw is pitching with the flu. He looks like he can barely stand up. Let's see how long he can go being as ill as he is.

Kershaw only pitches 3 innings and calls it a game. He doesn't give up any runs, but it was amazing he could even pitch 1 inning, let alone 3. On top of that he doubles to drain even more energy from his body.

Magic is sitting next to McCourt at the game
