Surf Channel Coming to DISH

I think you mean the Surf Channel
Another sport will be getting its own channel within the next few weeks. From the founder of the Tennis Channel and the Ski Channel, next up is the Surf Channel

AFAIK, the Ski Channel is only available via On Demand on Dish. Moreover, it's SD only. That's too bad, as I liked some of their snowboarding content. Call me when it's HD On Demand like Epix Drive-In!

ehh almost sounds like another version of the "pursuit channel" i.e home shopping in disguise

Says the article, "The channel will launch to 20 million households via distribution deals with Comcast, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish, Filmon.com and YouTube, with which it has a preferred channel partnership

I can't speak for everyone but,why they would waste space on a channel like this is beyond me.Bring back Amc/Ifc Yes/Msg and Gol tv for the soccer fans.
