DISH -VS- VOOM - A Settlement has been reached!

There actually are some VOOM like channels out there. A candian frm has rights to some of the library and has relaunched some channels. Not sure if there is any way the stuff could hit the US. Even if it did wouldn't that be like admitting DISH was right about slimming down to a smaller number of channels?

So, if the agreement brings back FUSE and not MSG, wouldn't it be ironic since the reason why DISH dropped MSG was that they were being forced to also carry FUSE? I would hope it includes MSG, even if there isn't hockey this year.

Will probably take a little time for total clean-up. I could see where that one could get overlooked immediately.

I've already seen all the content I wanted to, several times over, on this service whose name we dare not mention. And there's no new stuff.

Do you even have any concept of betting? A prediction of a settlement is like predicting we all going to die one day. All those litigations thrown against him, all had incredible odds of winning, but he managed to come out ahead most times. Settlement in his favor, against all odds, by definition is winning a bet.

Just look at the evidence you and your mentor buddy presented pages after pages, and the sanctions the court had already levied against Dish, if there is a role reversal, or if for example DirecTV was put in his position, they would have paid near full asking price before the judge even raised his voice. If you want to know why I say so, you need to go back to read some of those earlier patent cases in the Eastern Texas court, the ones predating the TiVo case.

And I say so as a DirecTV sub too:)

I win, you loser. :D

I'm not. There will always be DISH pom pom waivers ,that see anything potentially negative in their perception of DISH , cause their defense modes to kick on. Then they attack anyone that they see as being the messenger of that negative perception.

You can say that again.

The "find AMC in your lineup" search engine still says: "AMC is currently located on channel 9609 and 9610 (HD), but will not be available to DISH customers after June 30. Find a provider who carries AMC by going to keepamc.com." when I search for AMC on DISH.

Some of the promo's for AMC shows still say "Not available on Dish." Saw one last night for Comic Book Men while watching a movie on AMC.

When do you think we'll get information on how long this "free preview" period will last, and what packages AMC will be a part of going forward (I assume it'll probably just be in the packages it was in before, but I can't help but hold out hope it might get added to the one I have)?

As a guess, since that's all we have right now, well into next month. When the other channels get added Nov 1st they very well will be in freeview too. I'm going to say they will all be turned off of freeview at the same time.

Charlie doesn't see adding MSG as worth while, because most of the fans of all the Sport teams on the New York State RSN's (Yes, MSG, Sportschannel NY) have already left, I did.

Adding One New York State RSN (MSG) as this point simply isn't worth it to Dish Network, as they still wouldn't have Sportschannel NY or YES.
