I would tend to agree since Lenny James certainly has a much larger stage presence, but who knows if he wants to stick around as a fulltime cast member. Maybe he just wants to make an occasional guest appearance. Perhaps that's what the executive producers also want. I don't know much about comic book series, but the writers/producers have certainly taken creative license with the series so there's no telling what they're going to do. Offhand, I wonder if Merle and Daryl will survive past the summer. Certainly at least one is going to eat a bullet or be mauled by walkers. While we would all love to see the good guys and gals prevail over evil, the bottom line is not all the good guys are going to survive---especially with Tyrese and Morgan potentially joining the group---and sometimes evil screws good. Just ask Andrea. Anyway, I think we all agree that The Governor will be taking a dirt nap by the end of the season, but he is certainly not going down without taking a few of the group members with him. The only quesion is will it be Rick, Merle or Andrea who slays The Governor along with the method of his violent demise.

A lot of folks would love to see Merle hanged by the neck - me too! But not so fast...Daryl was redeamable, so what about Merle? Could the death of his brother so devastating that is forever changes Merle and let's the sunshine come bubbling from out of his innards? Naw! The only thing that's going to bubble out of Merle is spit, vinegar and a massive-gassive he is wanting to dump on Rick and the gang. Of course, his acting talents are greatly underappreciated (just look how he has been acting a role with the Governor) and I see him as joining the group as a bad-a@@sed version of Dr. Smith (or Lost in Space fame)...but only a lot more cunning and manipulative. We shall see. Just as we need our heros, I think we also need persistent evil like Merle to make things more interesting.

The old perv convict, who I considered to be a good guy before that moment, talks like Michael O'Sullivan in his speech before Capt. Wilson (Ed Begley) hanged all the prisoners in the movie Hang 'em High. Don't let this guy into the liquor cabinet!!!

T-Dog got less speaking time that Carl. I'm just not sure that he is in the same league of popularity as Daryl.

Whether or not you kill off Merle and the Guv, there will always be a voice of evil. In a show like this, it is guaranteed.

Fantastic mid season finale!!Was really hoping Michonne would slay the governor,at least she got his eye!Andrea better get her crap together before it's too late,the governor will take her down with him.As to Merle and Daryl,I believe that Rick and company will come back for Daryl.The question that remains is,will Merle be saved with him?Was kind of interesting to see a new group of survivors come in.Although it kind of reminds me of the second season of Lost and the tail section but,TWD isn't as limited as Lost was with new characters coming in.

The webisodes are tied to the tv show; but the tv show took a different path fairly quickly from the books. But they are both excellent.

Actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on AMC's The Walking Dead, talks about turning into a real-life Southerner and describes what it's like to rip his guts out on set.

Q: Now that The Walking Dead is in its third season, what aspects of the show still surprise you?

A: The show just surprises me and brutalizes me. I was just taking to Scott Wilson, and we were just riffing on how extraordinary how this show is. The only downer is the fact that we lose people. You make these incredibly brilliant and intense relationships with truly gifted actors and invariably they get bitten, and I have to kill them. And it is kind of the big downer on what is becoming the single greatest job of my career. In the space of three years I've done more gymnastics on this show then I have in probably four or five years. It's been an incredible journey, and I wouldn't change it for the world, although it would have been nice to have a couple of more seasons with Sarah [Wayne Callies].

Q: Are you starting to feel like your character -- a leader among the company of actors?

A: I don't know. I just try and do my job. If people look to me, that's great. But acting is not like Enron; it's not a corporate exercise. People have their own ways of working and I'm very much of the opinion that you create a space that people can feel relaxed and comfortable and able to work in. I don't feel that fear is a good incentive on a film set. It's not the way I respond to work; so if anything I just try and make people feel at ease and happy and wanting to come to work and do their best. And as a leader, I try and create an environment where people can risk and dare to look stupid. Then again, if I'm on set with Scott Wilson, who's worked for fifty years, I bow at the seat of that. I call him Lionheart; the guy is a god!

Q: After Lori dies, Rick goes through a total mental breakdown. What's it like to lose your mind?

A: If they kill my wife, you know what I mean, it's the real deal for me. She deserved everything. I came into the writers' room and said, "What do you think Rick's breaking point is?" And this is what they came up with. I wanted to drop the gun, I wanted to fall, all of these things, and I wanted you to see this man who has led these people and been so strong, fall to the ground broken. I had an acting teacher who always said that even when you're ripping your guts out with emotion, it should be catharsis. Not many people get to do that in their lives full-stop.

Walking Dead' midseason finale ratings break basic cable records, top broadcast hits

"The Walking Dead" closed out the first half of Season 3 the same way it started it: breaking ratings records.

A total 15.2 million viewers watched the "Walking" midseason finale episode over three airings on AMC last night (Dec. 2). That includes 10.5 million during the 9 p.m. premiere airing, a 58% increase over the Season 2 midseason finale (which was already doing great by cable standards).

According to AMC, the ratings momentum makes "Walking Dead" the "first cable series in television history" to rank as the #1 fall TV entertainment series in the key 18-49 demographic. That means "Walking" outdid all broadcast rivals in the demo including heavyweights like "The Voice," "Modern Family" and "The Big Bang Theory."

Adding to the cable network's good news, the midseason finale of "Talking Dead" drew 2.2 million viewers at 11 p.m. following the first encore airing of "Walking." That's a 110% increase from the comparable episode last year.

As previously announced, "Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Feb. 10, 2013 and "Talking Dead" will directly follow in a new hour-long format at 10 p.m.

No doubt!That is the issue,all the big 4 want to do is copy each other.Never be original,if one has a reality hit they all have one or more.As for scripted shows how many times can they do law and order and csi?No originality whatsoever.

That is a smart move by AMC doing that
