Did anyone catch the premiere of the new Cinemax series Strike Back over the weekend? I thought it was pretty good. The second episode is already available to watch at dishonline. I watched it last night on the Revue (it is good for some things). Wouldn't you know it, I have Cinemax free for 3 years and not once was there anything worth watching. And the week after I finally lose Cinemax they come out with something good. Oh well, I might wait just before episode 3 comes on and subscibe. At least until the series ends for the year.

Interesting to see Cinemax involved in something that is not just about sex (though there is plenty of it). This is actually sort ofa British import. It had a debut season over there and noe Cinemax has joined in to jointly produce this season.

I saw it on HBO it is not bad.

Well how about that. Cleaning up one of my hard drives that I archive my UK shows on, I completely forgot about this show. This is apparently a second season. There were 6 episodes shown last year in the UK. I had grabbed them and never got around to watching them. Checking online, this is the second season co produced with Cinemax and Sky in the UK. Moving season 1 over to my WDTV now. Will have to have a little marathon of season 1, the next couple of days.

Tell me if you still feel the same way after the third episode? Anyway,I stopped watching the 3rd episode about 20 minutes into it. Where do I even begin to describe why I just couldn't suspend my disbelief long enough to keep watching. Was it the blatant British political correctness in action,or was it the "omnipotent" terrorist threat mythology that I couldn't take anymore,or was it all of the above? I just deleted the episode from my DVR & cancelled my series recording.

I no longer have Cinemax. I saw only the debut episode because it was on HBO Zone as well. Again, I like the fact that Cinemax is doing something that is not simply an excuse for sex scenes but I cannot say how it may or may not have progressed.

I'm on season 4.
Decided to buffer the shows and watch 'em all at once.
Pretty graphic series - not for everyone.
Several friends watch it with me.
Real adrenalin rush.

Cinemax’s ‘Strike Back’ To Go On Hiatus After Sullivan Stapleton Off-Set Injury

Cinemax‘s first primetime drama series Strike Back had been filming its 10-episode fourth and final season in Bangkok, Thailand when one of its two stars, Sullivan Stapleton, suffered a serious injury while exploring the town in his free time. As a result, filming of the series will take a six-month break so he can recover.

Season 4 finished airing in December.
I'm not following.

.
edit: I'm guessing the first 6-show season from May 2010 doesn't count.
Wasnt 'till 2011 they went to the 10-episode format.
Well worth seeing, as I recall.
.

Cinemax doesn't count the 1st series that filmed in the UK for SkyTV with Richard Armitage. Cinemax came in as production partners with Sky on the 2nd Series with the current cast but made that Series 1 in the US.

Final season starts next Friday the 31st. I'm a little disappointed Rhona Mitra isn't returning.

Interesting, both the leads, Winchester and Stapleton, have their own NBC series this fall. The Player and Blindspot.
