Official DISH Channel Request Thread

I just wish the channels we do have, would actually run programming that is related to what got the channel started in the first place! Like someone mentioned above about the weather channel being the Honey Boo Boo channel.

I personally like (liked) channels like The History Channel, TLC, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, etc...
Let's see what's on tonight's prime time schedule:
The History channel: Swamp People, Swamp People, and Cryptid: The Swamp Beast. When did it turn into The Swamp Channel? Oh, and by the way, these are modern day swamp people, not swamp people from the past, err history.
TLC - The Learning Channel: Extreme Couponing, Extreme Couponing, and Cake Boss. Sounds like something one would expect on perhaps the Food Network?
Nat Geo has an entire evening of Brain Games. Not bad, sounds like a perfect fit for The Learning Channel.
Meanwhile Animal Planet is showing Treehouse Masters and a couple episodes of leave it to the Beavers Brothers. Beavers are animals and chew on trees, I guess.
And last but not least, The Discovery Channel has Fast N' Loud: Revved Up and Rods N' Wheels. The Discovery N' Channel.

Actually that is like that all over, too many channels and no programming. Maybe they are trying to attract the zombie demographic. If Dish or any other provider dropped these dumbed down channels
there would be a lot of vacant transponder space. WGN is not WGN at all why is it listed as such.

My request is that DISH add in Distant Networks for everyone so we can actually see what is going on in Chicago and other places rather than watching talking heads on our locals
give out censored or paid for stories with blurred out video. That would replace the AAD distant locals lost because they were forced out of business because of sweetheart legislation
between networks and government to keep us uninformed.

I don't know if there is a channel like this, but I would like to see a children's educational channel--like what they run on PBS, and on the networks on Saturday morning, with shows like Bill Nye and Jack Hanna.

DISH isn't in the business of creating programming; they just deliver existing programming.

There used to be a decent similarity, Discovery Kids. But that got bought out so that Hasbro could advertise their toy line. :facepalm

If a channel is not available in HD, asking Dish to add it is a waste of bandwidth. This request has come up for this channel in the past. Still no HD even if it's changed it's name.
This thread should be limited to those channels that are available in HD that Dish does not carry.

The channel is actually available in HD although not one carrier brings it to you that way....

Al Jazeera comes in HD and is down-converted to SD. Content isn't that bad. If you want propaganda, go see what RT is running on Ukraine right now.
