In the case of the OP, wouldn't the 922 or the Hopper need to be hooked up to the internet? Wouldn't he get flagged if it showed up as a Canadian IP? How could he get around that?

There is absolutely no need to connect it to the internet. You will loose VOD's but that is fine in my opinion. I'm not sure if VOD's existed in 922 though.

They do. All hd dvrs have vods. Some have more than others though.

Thanks for Clarifying. I've never used much of VOD's. just regular satellite. I hope dish moves towards IPTV for internationals with the hopper

For international iptv dish does have dish world. Regular dish csr's do not support it, and not sure what all is included, but I do know dish is currently offering international iptv
