My wife is smart enough to never make me choose between her and Satellite TV. On the other hand, I am smart enough not to make her choose between me or the dog. We have a balanced marriage..... 
Can you get up close to said tree on your neighbor's property and get LOS under the lowest branches? Is there a good spot on your neighbor's property? Maybe he's amenable to hosting a dish on a fence.
It is in the country. Trees are on other side if the road unfortunately.
