Any body notice what is on the TWC they are running episodes of Fat Guys In The Woods all afternoon. Long way from showing weather condition. I sure wish we could get another weather channel on Dish.

HA! we all saw how that turned out for DTV. TBH, I say this is one of the few areas the government should be involved, and have a national weather channel, and ALL it does is air national weather, and maybe include an interactive app for local weather. Seems like it would be important to some and could really do good. For the most part though, I beleive in keeping them out of most everything else.

I was flipping through channels and did see that. It's been so long since I even go to TWC I didn't know they even show programs other than Wild Weather etc.... I rely on my Smart Phone or computer for weather, or the local channels and their apps. I have completely given up on TWC.

I was thinking it was originally part of Turner, but got tossed in the mix afterward.

It actually did work out good for directv customers, weathernation actually does do weather, and we ended up getting the "weather" channel back anyways...

Directv even said they refused the weather channel rate increase due to the lack of actual weather coverage

I'm talking about the pissed off people that are still complaining that DTV lost it in the first place(just like the ones that are still complaining about dish and Amc)

NBC bought TWC a few years ago, downhill ever since. That's why Al Roker has a show in the morning.

Don't see that we need any government involvement (at all). It's not like there is some lack of weather information. I can't remember the last time I used a TV to get a weather forecast (or news); between smartphone apps & the internet, I can get conditions & forecasts for any location in the country quicker than I can turn on the TV.

They are suffering the same fate as TV news; TV is a very inefficient way to access news or weather. That's why the so-called "news" channels are no longer really in the news business; they fill their time with nonsense designed to draw certain demographics to their channels so they can sell advertising.

The reason I think the government should be involved with that one, is because not all people have Internet, or even know how to use the internet. I actually heard an old man tell me the other day, the Internet was just a fad. I hadn't heard that in over 15 years.

It really is only a fad. It's only been around some 25 yrs now. :crowdbounce (I've wanted to use that one for a while).

Still not an argument for a govt. weather channel. My 85 year old mother doesn't have or use the internet, but between 3 local TV channels & radio, she has no problem getting the local weather.
