All insurance is a rip-off

So, bless those who do NOT pay for Dish Protection Plan and bless all those who DO pay for Dish Protection Plan. Each have good reasons for their decision.

Nice rant.But there is one major exception. If you want to buy a house with borrowed money (mortgage) you will be required to have insurance to cover the replacement cost of the house in case you burn it down.

Yes, I know, but after the mortgage is burned, it is UP to YOU for both the post-financed car and the home after all paid up. Even if you still owe on both, it still burns up people that they are forced to a higher coverage (higher premium) than they would like.

Most people, today, will have that mortgage for decades. Just sayin'....
