Dish mod?

I hope this is a the right place for this.
The standard 1000.2 dish with the triple LNB doesn't really get a strong signal. Has anybody done any mods on a bigger dish to which they have attached the triple LNB? I have a 1 meter Hughesnet dish that I can use if it will get me a stronger signal on 110,119 & 129.

You would need to make the lnb arm longer with the larger dish that you would have. If you use a larger dish that has a longer lnb arm then that may do the job.

Thank you stargazer. I believe it will work, I'm just wondering if there will be any gain, or if the present signal quality is all one can expect from those satellites with the triple LNB.

You will run into an issue if you use the existing LNB setup. The LNB's are spaced in a way that they are designed to work the best on a Dish 1000.2. If you use a different size dish the distance between the LNB's would be different and you wont get good results

When I had my free to air setup a 36" dish to get 4 degree spacing the LNB's were next to each other (in some cases you had to shave part of the casing down). On a 1.2 meter dish there was about a 1 inch gap between the LNB's

So is there any alternative to the 1000.2 dish to where the signal quality can be improved for the configuration needed for Dishnet HD?

What about if I used three Dish 500's - one for each of those satellites? Wouldn't that improve signal quality? It is the receiver that processes the signal into HD right, and not the LNB?

Sorry for the delay. Eastern arc is VERY weak - worse than western arc. For Bahamas and Florida I would recommend WESTERN ARC - 110 119 &b 129. I'm going to do a set up of a dish 500 for 110 and 119 and put 129 on separate dish. I'll report back.
