DISH Obsolete Receivers List

People have been getting notified that DISH wants to upgrade their receivers. Here is a list of receivers that DISH is replacing and will no longer activate.

If you have one of these receivers and have not been contacted DON'T WORRY. The upgrades are rolling out by areas. DISH will contact you when they want you to upgrade... so until then, enjoy watching TV.

Here is the list...

Obsolete receivers: The following QPSK and/or MPEG-2 (in select DMAs) model receivers are being discontinued: 1000/1500, 2700, 2710, 2712, 2800, 2812, 3000, 3500, 3700, 3722, 3800, 3822, 3900, 3922, 4100, 4700, 4722, 4900, 4922, 501, 508, 510, 6141 and 301. Plus the 311 (within the limited DMAs; these require MPEG-4 receiver replacements)

That is all the information I have to share.

They already are.

Yup. I had to have all of the receivers replaced on my commercial account recently when changing packages. They were mostly 311's being replaced by 211z's. But, even replaced a vip612 with another vip612, and three 211k's with 211z's, which was weird. They said it was because of the smartcards. But, why not just replace the smart cards in those?

What happened to the 4000 it seems to be missing from your list? Also 381/811 they are MPEG2 only

As I said this is all the information I have. Does the 381/811 support 8PSK? If yes then there is your answer.

scott is this having to freeing up some bandwidth on western arc for maybe new hd channels or 4k

What happened to the 4000 it seems to be missing from your list? Also 381/811 they are MPEG2 only

The 381/811 wasn't even good enough to be a boat anchor. I doubt if any of these buggier than hell boxes are even in service.
Dish also discontinued the X000 receivers long ago when Dish Pro became the norm.
You'll note the 721 and 921 receivers are not listed either. Two more barely boat anchors.

All those were already included when they disco'd the 5000's some time ago...which IS the same receiver, sans the D-VCR...

not til May. My dad has a 301 and got the "notice" and it says "After May 2015" that it wont work

The 7100 DishPlayer? I thought those were done a long time ago along with the 721 that they made us deactivate due to Tivo Patent issues.

I don't see the 111 listed. Also, Matt G posted on the other forum the 381/811 were obsolete as well.

Those were obsolete years ago.

Ok ,lets here a list of what receivers are still CURRENT and can be activated.

I just hope that with whatever space Dish gets on WA...they try to get as many HD channels on 110/119 1st...allowing subs from PR/AK/HI to have access to atleast the HD channels carried by Dish. And that Dish use 129 for their 4K lineups.

Would that be 311, 322, 211, 211k, 211z, 222, 411, 622, 722, 722k, 922, Hopper, and HWS, unless I'm leaving out one.
