I was hoping to see Pluto pic's fly by on NASA channel and still showing crappy 480i pictures.:(

Why is Directv not adding a NASA HD channel? How hard can that be?

they need the bandwidth and there is lot of other channels that also need to go hd as well.

It would be a nice to have an HD Streaming NASA TV app supported on the receiver, don't you think?

I wish they would carry CSPAN in HD.
Well, hook up to computer to your TV (or you could just watch it on your computer if you don't mind a small screen). And sign in to C-Span with your DirecTV account, and then you could watch it in HD, plus you can watch C-Span 3. A little hassle since DirecTV doesn't carry C-Span 1 or 2 in HD or C-Span 3.

I cringe when I hear the local news getting ready to report on a science/space exploration story. I'm like, please don't screw this up...

Aren't they making more work for themselves by taking the HD picture and downgrading it to SD? Just pass it through in HD... I can't imagine that it would take as much bandwidth as, say, ESPN.

C span is very boring it puts anyone to sleep. I like nasa channel in hd though.
NASA channel in HD would be nice, but lets be honest, the majority of the time the channel is viewed is for a launch or when something is happening in space ... which isn't all that often.
I'm thinking outside of the BIG stuff, the ratings are pretty low.
