Or I guess I just realized I have a different question. Is the whole home hopper that I see a local distributor advertising, does that mean you can record on all 4 TVs if thats your setup?

The Hopper has 3 satellite tuners and an optional over the air tuner can be added for recording from an antenna. If recording from the satellite delivered locals the Hopper can record the Big 4 networks with a single tuner leaving the other tuners free for satellite/cable channel recordings.

Joeys are tunerless clients that use a tuner from the Main Hopper for viewing live tv or recoded content. However all tuners remain in the Hopper

if you get a hopper, it will only service one TV. You would need a Joeynfor each additional TV. It being whole home, the HD is available in any room with a Hopper or Joey. The VIP series will be two tuner, duo receivers meaning they will service two tvs but one will be in HD, and the other will be in SD.
