I agree there shouldn't be a proplan, and they should add the cost of a tech in with the regular bill to subsidize, but to be fair, the PP covers mostly customer owned equipment such as the dish and cabling.

Since you accepted ownership when it was installed. The only thing owned by Dish is the receiver.

My understanding is that DISH owns the LNB, and they will ask you to return it upon service termination.

That's one of those weird ones. They will ask for its return, but will write it off if not returned as long as the receiver is returned. The only time it is charged for is if the receiver is not returned. It is not serialized either.

Basically, the LNB is not leased either, although Dish will ask for its return if possible.

Same here. Free replacement receiver and free shipping both ways, even without the protection plan.
