There's a new low power station on the air in Sacramento, CA, KAHC-LD virtual 45, transmitting on channel 34 with 15 kW. But look at this! This is their list of sub-channels. Note the very weird numbering.

45.1001 - Laff TV
45.1002 - Test Pattern
45.1003 - Cozi TV
45.1004 - LCHD
45.1005 - QVC
45.1006 - QVC Plus

There's a channel that comes in here once in a while when tropospheric ducting is going on, that has numbering like those. There's about ten sub channels, but I never watch them because they're all in a foreign language, I think Chinese. If I happen to see them again, I'll try and figure out what station it is.

I've also seen weird subchannel numbers when hooking my TV directly to the cable jack with no cable box back in the late 2000s. I've come across weird numbers like 1001.117 etc. Time Warner Cable in my area does not not normally do such things as clear QAM.

I've seen that before. It tends to cause a lot of TV sets and receivers to ignore its existence.

When KXKW 32.1 went to ASN thats what AntennaTV was for a week. When I'd rescan i was two channels short with the 22.2 and 32.2 but when you start flipping channels it showed up 0-0, which is exactly what you just mentioned. Crazy that was the first time that ever happened to me...

From the sounds of those numbers you most likely were picking up neighbor's VoD/PPV.

That's how my company does it (they are all encrypted now), they are on Ch 66-69 and you will see 66.123 or 69.576.

A while back when my cable co (Atlantic Broadband) didn't encrypt you had to make sure no kids were in the room after a scan because you might end up tuning to somebody's interesting movies.
