Hi,

The World Series Game 7 tonight does not show up on my guide. It shows normal Wednesday night Fox shows. Is there a way to manually update the guide? My DVR is a Hopper w Sling.

Thanks

The guide is still wrong for FOX 28 in Columbus, Ohio.
I called Dish and they agreed that the guide is wrong. They said that they are aware of the problem and told me to reset the receiver tonight before the game. To be safe I set up a manual timer from 8 PM to midnight for FOX 28.1

I will check back later tonight to see if they have updated the guide.

Dish has now updated the guide for Columbus, Ohio FOX 28.
Thank You Dish. I have now deleted the manual timer and set the recording for the game on FOX 28.1

I will have all 7 of the 2016 World Series games in their own folder with the correct descriptions.

Now I just need the Indians to win tonight. Of course the Cub fans will disagree with me. By padding the timers I have all of the complete games.

Dish should think about updating their PTAT such that it will automatically pad the time for sports events. That is why I choose to use the OTA channel since it allows padding.

Dish adds a one hour pad to PTAT channels. I just set a recording for the WS. The guide shows the game starting at 5 PM and ending at 8 PM. Looking at the timer it shows recording from 5-9 PM. Of course if it goes into many extra innings, that might not be enough.

Still not showing for Fox 32 in Chicago. I'll reset the receiver and wait until later this afternoon before I set a manual timer.

However the game does show up in the sports section when you hit the blue button on the remote. But setting that to record does nothing. A reset is probably in order.

The 1 hour pad on PTAT does not work. In the past I have tested this using the PTAT with the 1 hour pad. Although the timer shows a 1 hour pad on the end, the recording stops at 11:01 PM. At least that is what happens for me. I am using a hopper with sling running software version S541. Since I have 2 hopper with sling receivers, I will retest the PTAT on my second receiver tonight to see if they have fixed PTAT.

Yeah, you need to go in and change the timer. Instead of cutting off at 9 pm, tell it to record until Cleveland wins. Oh wait, that could be a long ass video.

Manual timer works great.

It is updated for Fox 32 in Chicago now. Funny thing is that it changed all of my timers for tonight too. I had to re-extend the post game show on my local Comcast sports channel.

I tested the padding of the PTAT timer for the last game of the World Series and it actually worked. Unfortunately, the rain delay made the game longer than the hour pad. I had also extended the timer on FOX 28.1 the OTA channel on my other hopper with sling receiver but even that missed the last 15 minutes of the game due to the rain delay.

Perhaps missing the last 15 minutes was a blessing for me as an Indians fan. The recorded game ends as a tie for me. I actually saw the last 15 minutes and saw the Cubs win. I am not really sad because both the Cubs and Indians deserved to be winners.

"deserved to be winners"? What does that mean? Did both teams do an internship with Mother Teresa? Are all their players ex members of the Peace Corps?

Whoever wins, wins. There's no deserving to it. :)
