With my cable contract coming up soon, I'm looking for alternatives. I stream entertainment occasionally (ABC on demand, HBO Now, Netflix) and get near-cinema quality with my near-100mbps internet connection. I have also had excellent picture quality, near-digital satellite resolution and depth, with MLB.TV and NHL GameCentre. However, other sports, such as NBA Full Court and NBC Sports Network, come in with a "flat" picture: clear, unpixelated, but no depth, like watching a film.

I have subscribed to PS Vue (off a PS4) and have gotten excellent sports PQ across the board. But Vue doesn't have all the sports channels Sling has such as NHL Network. So I'm considering Sling.

If you stream sports with Sling, what kind of picture quality do you get? Is it consistent, or are channels different? I don't want to pay more for my cable, but I don't want to pay less for diminished picture quality. Thanks!

I have watched a lot of fball in Nov, and while Id say it isnt Vue quality it looks good on my Roku Ultra. I have also found there can be a gap in PQ depending on what device you use too, which makes it more trouble to diagnose. Directv Now also looks good, but it is wonky right now.

He already explained his internet speed.
That's great..but Internet speed changes..you don't really get what you pay for....if everybody in your neighborhood is streaming it might look crapy..if you are by yourself atc1am..it will look great

Mainly soccer viewing. Sling is good, but not Sat or live level good. Vue isn't either, but I thought Vue was better. Both were consistent quality however with very little macro blocking or lag.

Thanks. I've noticed that except for MLB.TV and NHL.TV, both of which use the same platforms, streaming sports looks like you're watching on an old-time newsreel but much clearer. Caught Rockets-Clippers on NBA channel the other night on Vue and it was cable/satellite quality. Unfortunately, Vue doesn't have NHL or MLB Network channels. sigh.
