Was watching the Celtics vs. Hawks game on DTV last night. Signal was lost due to the late season wet/heavy snow building up on the dish. So I thought, no big deal. I switched over to Vue to continue watching there. But Vue was not working either. WTF??!! This is the service that I am counting on using when I dump DTV later this month. Did anyone else using Vue see this, or was it just me? And does this happen often? Seems to be working fine today. Can't understand it because internet was just fine.

Did not have any problem with Vue last night or at any time yet, watching live TV, mostly news, then at 10 watched the new episode of Rick and Morty.

Since June, I've had a handful of problems when a channel wouldn't tune in or it got disconnected, but every time, I just tuned to a different channel first and tried again or exited the app and returned and everything was fine. I've had more problems, especially in the first few months, with watching recorded programs, requiring me to either watch the on demand version or via the channel's TV everywhere app. All in all, I would put the frequency of problems on par with my last cable TV DVR.

Did you try the TV Anywhere app(if applicable like the Fox Sports app). I understand the big picture being that you want to drop DTV, but couldn't you use their online app to finish watching the game?

I've vere rarely had issues, but when I have (half a handful of times in a year at best) , a restart of the app clears it up.

For us, it had been much more stable than sat. Ymmv

Wondering if the problem might have been with my new Fire TV that I just got and am learning how to use. Still was having problems with whichever yesterday morning. So I unplugged the Fire TV box for a few hours. When I reconnected later in the day, all was fine. Watched a recorded show flawlessly and some live tv. Have to say that the Fire TV is very different from the 2 Rokus that I already had. But I do like the fact that the Fire TV has a program guide. Was starting to think about returning the Fire TV to Amazon. Will give it some time and hope for the best.

If you don't have a voice remote, download the FireTv app on a smart phone or tablet to use the Alexa features. She interfaces great with almost any streaming music service, not just Prime Music. You set it up with the Alexa app. My life hasn't been the same since I discovered this. It even works on a first gen FireStick.

As primestar31 said, it is for PS Vue streaming service. Haven't really used it yet since I still have DTV. Will take some getting used to because it runs horizontally vs. vertically. Does appear that you can set-up recordings directly from the guide. That is an important feature, at least for me.

That part definitely takes some getting used to, but a year in and I am almost adjusted. :D

As far as PS Vue channel navigation goes, the thing that bothers me the most now (8 months in) is the inability to simply flip channels. Any channel change (other than "last channel) takes at 3-4 button presses: pull up guide or channel browse menu, toggle to channel you want, select channel.

I am willing to go thru the extra steps to change channels, not have a guide (again I like the app look ) or be careful on how I have to set the DVR to save shows, etc because to have the same channels with anyone else and 5 boxes I would be looking at $100 a month at least instead of the $35 I pay Sony.

Didn't give the girl much of a chance. Told her that when they could give me the channels I want with the ability to record 5 shows at once for $35 a month, I would reconsider them if I became disenchanted with Vue.
