Is anyone else as frustrated as me with the streaming quality/stability of Dish anywhere? I've got a 150/20 connection where the Hopper is, so that should be more than enough.

Many other streaming platforms today work much better, especially over slower or variable connections such as hotels, so why can't Dish get their stream to be more consistent?

It does -OK- when I am at someone's house with a fast connection - not great, but alot better. But put it in a hotel where the connection quality changes and it doesn't know how to adjust. Streaming shows from the networks website or on demand, amazon, etc - those all seem to compensate MUCH better.

I'm very pleased. My home, with two HWS, has 50/50.

But where we sometimes watch is a weak cellular connection. Still works. Just skip ahead slowly. Not as good as viewing at home, but I'm quite pleased.

The number one most important part is on the upload side!.....Just because you pay for 20megs up dont mean you get it....Have you done an upload speed test?

The speed you have uploading at your Hopper location is just one of the things to take into account. The download speed at your receiving location is just as important.

Not even close......Without the upload you have zero.....We all enjoy halfway decent download speeds....Without out the upload YOU WILL NEVER GET A GOOD PICTURE...its that simple....To achieve a HD signal Dish wanted over 5 megs upload.....Now in rural America thats not easily achieved!...1 meg upload is hard to get in alot of places still....Like I said what you pay for and what you get are very different.....Time of day even bigger.....and maybe even throttled by the broadband supplier!

What part of the upload speed BEING JUST ONE OF THE THINGS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT didn't you get. I didn't say that upload speed was unimportant. What I was saying is that along with upload speed at the Hopper location is just part of the equation. The download speed at the receiving location for Dish Anywhere is equally important.

Upload speed about 80% of importance?.....Id say that is way more important......our cell phones have good download even in the Grand Canyon......I take download speeds for granted.....Upload is pure luxury!

Yes, I consistently get at or slightly above what I pay for, no issue there. Everything in my house is hardwired as well.

I agree, but that's my point. It seems like many other streaming services compensate MUCH better than Dishanywhere does. I can stream from Amazon or the major networks and while quality will vary, it will continue streaming. DA freezes, cuts out, locks up, and generally seems to have no idea how to handle anything less than a stellar connection.
