Team Summit

could talk anything about 4k on the hopper 3 dvr than why do we have the hopper 3 in the first place anyway

Yep. I have it on the old UI and I'm surprised how often in comes in handy- once or twice a week.

I still get the pop up window sometimes when I add a new timer to record it on my second HWS. I am still on the old UI.

The new interface was effectively developed for the Hopper 3, which they knew was going to have many, many more tuners available. Therefore, this option or feature is a waste of resources ... for the Hopper 3. They should just leave the Hopper 1 and 2 with the old software. They maintain multiple software builds already or another option is to simply stop development on the non-CUI s/w for the H1 and H2.

I went for 13 straight years. Always had fun.

fu*k going there because of Dish. You go there to meet up with your friends

The last couple years I went was mostly for the entertainment, meeting friends from past years and the announcement of new products/promotions. I really enjoyed reporting that news on here and miss that the most. Now I'm just another customer.

IMHO Prediction of Announcements at Team Summit:
1. OTA Dual Tuner USB adapter with software rolling out that week.
2. DPH42 shipping "soon" (the week after) and ready to install multiple 4 sat H3's.
3. DA (or SlingAnywhere as per #4:)) on FireTV ready to launch (maybe we have to pay access fee? Hope not)
4. CUI "ready to go" will be pushed (forced) out to all Hoppers within weeks.
5. Dish changing its name and brand to reflect a company with services that are not just satellite (as in not wanting to be ID'd by consumers as a receding, yesteryear's "satellite" pay TV company. The new name: SLING.
Sling offers SlingTV the way people want it, by traditional MVPD (sat) or OTT along with SlingTV Everywhere on your mobile or Connected Device, and Sling Internet ISP services (sat internet), and soon to come Sling Mobile full wireless mobile services using the latest 5G technology. The new slogan: SLING--any way you want! :). So much for "The Listener."

They can't change the name. Too much name recognition over the years.

Besides they shortened it to just Dish a few years ago.
