It won't matter. The industry is so saturated/stagnant and even shrinking that growth is not possible. All that can be done is to keep the ship from sinking too fast. The biggest change will have to be what content owners charge for their content.
You are probably right. It will make no difference . I give up for now trying to put out ideas that might save DISH. But if even one or two of my ideas get used by them , I would feel like it was worth it.

I don't think you have bad ideas. I think many of them are not realistic. It's crazy to think that a huge company hasn't thought of many of the same things we come with. Some of them may be good ideas but can't work and some may be good ideas and just get turned down. They have numerous people who work for them that all they do is try to find ways to gain more customers, market share, profits and just overall brand awareness. For any of us to sit here as back seat drivers and assume they are just happy staying the course then we would be very foolish.

Well actions speak louder than words. I have seen very little being done to change their situation.

And in the past DISH has used many of our ideas on this very web board . The idea for Hd for life I myself ,as well as others here floated here first, before it became an actual policy for DISH. Another example was when DISH decided to charge more for a second hopper, after telling us it would stay at $7.00. After the outrage on this web board was expressed , DISH decided to give subs with two hoppers a $5.00 credit each month to make up for the increase for a number of months.

So when I put out ideas on this board I'm not just putting it out for us. I'm also hoping that someone with DISH will take some of the ideas and turn them in to policy. Remember Some of your best ideas come from your customers . It would be foolish to not listen to their complaints as well as their ideas ,that would make their DISH product and service a better value for the very customers themselves. Especially if you are interested in retaining existing subs and attracting new ones as well, as I know DISH must surely be.

This debate again? Do y'all just keep a copy of these love sonnets handy so you can copy/paste them to each other in every thread now? :D

In all seriousness, it's because Mike is the opposite of a troll. His posts are meant to be constructive, he is consistent and doesn't make it personal. It's a real way to get ideas out there. Rarely do I keep going back and forth with someone just being negative or with zero facts and made up stuff. (I have at times then regretted it - lol)

When you got Directv doing 4 Tv's for 1 flat price you need to lower the joey cost

What are the costs when compared side by side? What is the most comparable system and package to a Hopper 3 with 3 Joeys and the Top 200? I have no idea what Direct's fees are so that's why I ask.

Dish has been trying for a very long time to get more into wireless and streaming data. They've made advances in technology that allow customers to watch HD in every room while having access to all their programming and recordings. They made it possible for customers to watch their service from anywhere in the world that has internet. They even came out with a streaming service at a low cost that doesn't require a contract. Trust me, they've been trying to change with the times and they've been doing for much longer than you think. The problem is they haven't been able to find a way to make it work for them yet. They also prefer to do it themselves instead of working with another company.

I will admit that you're right about using feedback from customers, Dish does listen and does make some changes based on what they see on here.

How will Dish ever survive if they cut their Joey fees to $5.00 each?:smug
Combined with the discount on the DVR fee, that is like getting one Joey for free. That is a step in the right direction, and it is exactly what I say Dish should do for existing customers who upgrade to the "Hopper Lite" if it doesn't have a TV2 output.
