Does DISH ever use these channels? This Friday is opening day of the college basketball season. Pac-12 Network has a triple header on their national feed, but there are 7 other games being shown on the various local feeds (Pac-12 Bay Area, Pac-12 Washington, etc). Seems like this would be the ideal time to use the alternate channels, but I don't see anything listed in my on screen guide or the online Game Finder.

You might see something on these channels later in the week.

They have not used the alternate channels in about three years. We can watch the other channels/ games online though

Thank you. Too bad Pac-12 doesn't have a Roku app though.

Yea, there is some dispute with the Pac 12 and not wanting them to cherry pick events, but instead carry the entire channel. Wish the channels would be on DISH Anywhere, like they are with Sling TV. This way we could watch them on the Kindle Fire TV. Would be a back door way into streaming direct to TV. No dice though and its disappointing.

I can get all of the feeds via my PAC12 app on my iPad. Then I mirror that up to my big screen TV via AppleTV...

I looked at today's Pac 12 schedule. Let's start with yesterday, Washington played Stanford on FS1. Today, USC is at Colorado at 1PM (all times are PST) on Fox, WSU at Utah at 2:30 on Pac12, ASU at UCLA at 6:30 on Pac12, ORST at Arizona at 7:00 on ESPN2. Cal and Oregon have byes. So, there is no need for the alternate channels. Pac 12 teams are regularly televised on channels other than the Pac 12 Network and that network has the teams playing at different times so that there is little to no overlap.

Of course, that is for football, basketball is a whole nuther thing. Tomorrow there are 2 basketball games on at 1PM. There is nothing in the schedule, at the moment, to say how both games can be seen. Let's see what happens tomorrow...

In the beginning, Dish did show on these alt channels all live events not on the national channel. But for the past year and half, only overlapping football games are shown (one time last season and one time this season). Otherwise, they are never used. This was the result of some overly complicated rules “reclarified/finally enforced” by the Pac-12 in February 2016. They seemed to have worked it out a year ago when the 6 regional channels were added to SlingTV. But that didn’t seem to include showing anything else on these channels. So casting from your mobile app or SlingTV is your best bet. Weird they still keep so many alt channels. Never have understood that.

Pac 12 pulled the programming because they want DISH to actually carry the regional channels. I get that, and I wish DISH would carry the regionals, even if it is only in the Multi Sport pack. Alternatively, I wish DISH would have a Hopper App to watch the regionals if it does not have the bandwidth.
