Is a roof vent pipe mount permissible?

My dish was on a pipe cemented into the ground. It was ruined when a tree fell on it. I bought a new dish and mounted it on top of my house's roof, securely clamping it to an existing heavy-duty steel vent pipe. That was six months ago. Now, I've decided to upgrade to a Hopper 3 and 4K Joeys. My question is: when the Dish installation guy comes to do the install, is he going to be OK with the dish being mounted to the vent pipe?

Not unless he’s a turd. That’s not an authorized mount.

If it's a solid mount and causing no issues otherwise you should be good to go.

It's the standard 1000.2 dish. Western arc.

Found that online
I see. Well I'm thinking about what might happen when the dish installer comes with my two new Hopper 3's, and he goes up on the roof to replace the LNB with a hybrid one... If he sees the non-kosher vent pipe mount, and says the dish must be mounted differently, then it's going to take him a lot of time to do the new mount. And I don't want him to have to run into that huge snag. I'm a DIY guy, so maybe I should change the mount, ahead of time.

IDK for sure. But, I live in a 150 year old house and I don't know when all the plumbing was done. However, there are a few cast iron pipes sticking up (vent pipes) and I have not attached anything to them. But, I would not be afraid to install a small dish on one.

I had to wrestle with one a few years back that wound up having nothing wrong with it. Short story, they are very sturdy.

I seen a super dish mounted to a picnic table. The worst part of it was whoever done it scotched the legs of the table to try and level it out. :facepalm
The guy who trucks my soybeans to ADM moved into his new house, last year. He told me didn't want to wait on the Dish guy to come move his antenna, so he moved it himself, temporarily bolting it to the side of his cattle trailer, which was parked straight east/west. Luckiest guy on earth. He connected the coax to his receiver and got a perfect picture without having to adjust azimuth or elevation a single time.
