Epix no longer a part of DISH movie Pack??

Curious what will happen when my 1/2 off Dish Movie Deal ends. If I go online and they automatically offer me another 1/2 off deal to “not cancel”, will it still include Epix? It doesn’t expire for a few months so maybe someone else will have tried it by then.
If you let it expire, you will loose Epix, if you renew right away, you will still receive them.

Effective January 16, 2018, DISH Movie Pack™ will no longer contain EPIX in its programming lineup.Existing Subscribers with the DISH Movie Pack who sign up prior to January 16, 2018 will continue to receive EPIX as part of their DISH Movie Pack subscription. Please note this change will also apply to the 3 Months Free Premium Offer for new customers who sign up on or after January 16, 2018
Dish did a really good job of announcing this change before January 16, 2018. This is the first time I am seeing it.
It reminds me of when Dish stopped offering the superstations, and I did not find out about that until after the fact.
(Dish actually did announce the change to the superstations ahead of time, but I was not reading this site on a regular basis back then, so I missed it.)

Started to post about this the other week and it slipped my mind until I saw this thread.

Well, there was some warning, since there was a thread back in December when someone noticed that Dish was no longer advertising Epix as part of Dish Movie Pack on their website. However, we never got official confirmation in that thread what was going on, just speculation.

DISH operates in strange and mysterious ways... Always has.

To clarify, Epix has always been $7 a la carte, but most didn’t sub to it because for the movie pack(BB@H and Dish Platinum for those who remember those days... back in the DishOnline and Dish Remote Access days) offered them as well. I always wondered when that would change, and when they’d stop offering the half off promos.

Till now it has been @ $7. But I have not seen it on the DISH site anymore and that link says this page does not exist. It is a selection when I go to my Programming however.

That's the thread I was thinking of. I was off by a month, it was November, not December.

I don''t like it when anybody messes with my programming.
When I saw this thread I thought about it because Dish Movie Package is part of my programming. I figured Epix would be grandfathered and this turns out to be true.
I have really enjoyed Dish Movie pack and had it been a part of my programming probably as long as it had existed.
I was on a promotion for this Dish Movie Package and received an email stating that my 6 month 50% off was ending starting with my next bill. Therefore I called in early to see if there was another promotion for this programming package that I so dearly cherish.
I was told there was not and was offered HBO and Cinemax for 6 months for $5 a month. I know this is insane, but I wasn't interested in adding these channels unless they were free.
The Dish agent said since I like Dish Movie Pack so much he could give me 6 months of $5 credits to offset the increase of the price. Without a thought I agreed to this offer.
Upon review of my new bill I noticed that the Dish Movie Package was removed and added to my account at the time that I called. I was not aware of this. My first reaction was that my promotion hadn't quite really ended yet but adding and removing the programming package ended the promotion before it would have actually ended. Now I realize these actions also removed Epix from my Dish Movie pack.
I am so mad about this that I have got to cool off. What a screwed up.

Sounds like you should be mad. I would start by calling and if needed get a supervisor and tell them you never cancelled the movie package and want the grandfathered Epix included. If you can contact DIRT maybe try them.

I called back and was supposedly transferred to the so called top of the totem pole. In my opinion the person I got was terrible. Maybe he was too young to get it. I thought he must be brainless, but perhaps that is too harsh. He kept telling me since I am receiving monthly credits on my bill that Dish has treated me great, and therefore I shouldn't be upset about this. Also this representative said that I would have automatically lost the channels when the six month promotion I was on ended. If what he is telling me is true I cannot believe it. This Elite CSR also said because Epix channels were removed while I was receiving a promotion I wouldn't have been grandfathered. He said grandfathering only applies to people that were paying full price. That is a new one on me, and sounds extremely stupid. This representative said the loss of the grandfathered channels was automatically generated by the system. He said I would have automatically lost the grandfathered channels if the channel lineup changes occurred while I are receiving a promotion when the promotion ended even without cancellation.. This young guy, supposedly their elite CSR, had absolutely no comprehension of how this feels and that I do not accept this. That is why I feel he is an imbecile. I wonder who he thinks is going to accept that load of crap true or not. He should get screwed and the shouldn't represent themselves as the pinnacle of help at Dish Network because it makes customers like me question Dish Network. I felt like he was trying to explain to me that this is just tough luck.

I had the exact opposite experience when I had a promotion for free Dish Platinum when it changed over to Blockbuster Movie Pass (the same package that eventually got renamed Dish Movie Pack). Dish added some channels, and free Blockbuster discs by mail, to the package with the name change, and people who were paying full price automatically got switched over to the new package. However, since I was on a promotion, I got grandfathered with the old package, and I did not get the additional channels or the Blockbuster disc option. So apparently, Dish will only grandfather people on promotions when it is in Dish's best financial interest to do so.

I was on the 1/2 price promotion, came off on the 17th of January and still have Epix channels. So no, you should not have lost those channels. In fact the website specifically asked you what to do when the promotion ended and a choice was to continue the package. Not to restart the package, continue it.
Play CSR roulette and call again, write the CEO etc. Tell them you are HOPPING mad. This is a CSR screw-up.

Are you paying $10 for the grandfathered movie package now? If so, that would still be a discount of $7 for the new combined price of both.
