Popup warning using Dish Anywhere (web version) today.

Dish Error.png

Patience Grasshopper. Dish really needs to get some competent programmers working on Dish Anywhere ASAP. The error messages it displays, like this one, are a pitiful joke

FWIW our only receiver, that Dish Anywhere claims in “NOT COMPATIBLE”, is a Hopper 3. Does Dish even offer an upgrade to our “system”?

And once I clicked the X in the upper right hand corner, Dish anywhere displayed the guide and DVR pages just fine. So why the big red popup?

I'm not sure why it doesn't work 100%, 100% of the time....

Dish Anywhere is immensely complicated compared to a standalone PC-based Sling Player which unfortunately does not exist for Dish receivers. I was often amazed when it worked at all!

Check out this pop-up I got on Dish Anywhere when I tried to go to PrimeTime Anytime (which makes sense since my "compatible receiver" is a Hopper Duo):

Note that the message says "PrimeYime Anytime has not been enabled..."
I guess we will have to start calling it PYAT. :nana

I've never really found Dish Anywhere to work that consistently and as such rarely try to use it.
I agree using over the Internet is not so reliable (mostly due to my poor upload speeds) BUT using Dish Anywhere on my bedroom TV instead of paying the monthly fee for a Joey works really, really well. Especially since there is a native client for my Android TV.

I am still remembering watching a college football recording from my Hopper in Frankfurt, Germany. DA worked perfectly. My upload speed is 6...

I just checked Dish Anywhere, and this typo has now been fixed. I guess someone from Dish must have seen this post. :)

Not following does not exist? Can't use a slingbox?

I do not currently own a Slingbox. What doesn't exist is a standalone client for a Sling Adapter or any Dish DVR with built-in Sling. Am I wrong about that?

I believe that is correct. My reply was because a slingbox is a computer/online way to watch I wasn't sure if you were thinking about that..
