Is it better to hook a new Wally receiver up to my home system the first time and then move it to my camper? I have 2 Hopper w/sling for my home system will it work with this?

I just got a new Wally for my parents and I set it up at my house and it wouldn’t upgrade to the latest software U449 . I finally left it in standby and over night it upgraded to the latest software. Now I need to move it to my Mom and Dads house and install it in place of their flaky Wally.

I had tried to get a replacement Wally from DISH but when it came it wouldn’t upgrade to the latest software and that meant it wouldn’t allow but one sat tuner and one ota tuner. My Dad was impatient and said he wanted to stick with the flaky Wally until we could get a box that would work. Luckily they went out of town this week and I’m going to replace his old Wally with the new one I bought off Amazon.

But the first day I had the new Wally at my house , any attempt to try to force the newest software would cause it to reboot. I guess it is like the hopper and you have to let it acclimate over night before it starts working right. I just hope it will be ok when I move the box over there today and I don’t have to listen to him gripe anymore about losing his signal.

Well I spent a couple of hours at my parents house and installed the new Wally and had DISH deactivate the bad one. This new one turns out should of been activated for an RV account, but DISH said it didn’t matter since we called the main DISH number, they could do it. She said everything looked good diagnostically from her end. It’s very cool that they can do a remote diagnostic, And take over the screens from their end. This Wally works as fast as my Hopper does. The older one was slow and clunky. I just hope they don’t have any more issues with losing sat signal.
