What channels is it on? I thought HBO/ CINEMAX were removed from D* under dispute?
You're right! Did a forum search in that forum, this thread came up, didn't double check...
Darn! And I was just about to complain, "I am not getting those channels, and I always check my receivers for free preview channels, so what gives!?"
A lot of free previews this month: MGM HD channel 385, FXM channel 384, Sony Movie channel 386 till 11 Feb. Showtime and Starz coming later in Feb.
It is Hollywood month. This is Dish's annual tradition, doing previews of as many movie channels as possible, both as a way to celebrate the Oscars and to apologize for Dish's annual price increase to the basic packages. Of course, without HBO and Cinemax, there are not as many movie channels to put in preview as Dish used to be able to offer.A lot of free previews this month: MGM HD channel 385, FXM channel 384, Sony Movie channel 386 till 11 Feb. For those who were looking forward to seeing the newly-added Showtime Family Zone HD on channel 324, it looks like that particular channel has not been turned on yet as part of the Showtime free preview, though.
Like I said, these free previews started on February 20. However, Dish's free preview page on their website...The free previews started this morning.

It is now February 25. The free preview is over, and Showtime Family Zone never did show up during the preview.
I predict that Showtime Family Zone will be featured as its own separate free preview during Dish's annual "Kids' Binge-A-Palooza" in July. This is just a guess, but the lack of Showtime Family Zone during this last free preview may have been a contractual thing. In other words, Dish's contract with Showtime may only authorize them to put each Showtime channel in free preview for a specific number of days over a certain time span. So, Dish had to leave that channel out of this free preview in order to avoid being contractually prevented from featuring it during the "Kids' Binge-A-Palooza" event. Dish featured HBO Family during the first "Kids' Binge-A-Palooza," so it would make sense that Dish would want Showtime Family Zone as a replacement for HBO Family.

Well if I did get it I probably thought it was a Showtime sales pitch.
Uhhh, actually that email was before all of these new previews started yesterday, and it did not specifically list which channels were upcoming in preview, or even the preview channels that had already started. You had to click the link to find out about the existing previews. The newly-added ones did not appear on that page on the website until after the new previews had already started. There has been no new email since then to specifically announce these new previews. (Or, if there has been an updated email, I did not receive it.)
Uhhh, too much trouble to click on the link? Did you read the email? The part where it says they will continue to add previews? You think they're going to send you an email every time they add one just so you don't have to look it up? It seems to me it's a very nice thing Dish is doing and if it means I have to exert myself by clicking on a link I'll deal with it. I can handle it.
