Anyone else cutting back their Dish service due to lack of sports?

I currently have AT120+, mainly because of the included sports channels. With all sports being canceled for the foreseeable future, I am seriously considering switching to Flex Pack. I mean, why should I pay for ESPN, FS1, BTN, SECN etc. when they aren't showing any live sports? To keep everyone in my house happy, I would need to add Variety Pack and Kid's Pack. (Why doesn't Kid's Pack have the regular Nick channel though?) Looks like I'd be saving $19/month.

I did just that since I have no need for ESPN until college football starts back in the Fall. Downgraded to Flex with locals and will be saving around $10 per month.

Never had to with the Flex Pack. Now I just don't add it as often anymore like I used to.

Living in a big 10 town wTched college basketball a lot. A little Colts action and quite a bit of NASCAR. With college sports becoming a short track to the pros and pro sports becoming nothing more than championship wrestling with different uniforms I prefer being my entertainment $ going to Hollyweird as long as I don’t have to listen to celebrities spew their political views. And further discussion about that issue belongs in the pit. Staying with flex and movie pack, Disney plus along with Amazon Prime is more than enough entertainment and great $ value. Being over 60 and know what entertains me. Life is like a box of chocolates, I like the square ones! Lol

I'm not going to reduce anything. The only problem I have is trying to get some money back from NHLTV and MLBTV.
I don't see the NHL regular season starting up again and (maybe) they go right into a playoff of some kind. They might play some limited regular season games so that all teams play the same number to set the playoff brackets.

My hope is that they will give credit or a discount on next season. Today I received notice that F1 will be offering an iTunes gift card to compensate subscribers who paid for their online access because the first couple of races have been postponed.

I called NHL and they said they were assessing the situation and would send out an email. The only reason I'm trying to get my money back from the NHL is if they start the playoffs NBCSN has all the teams anyway. I'm going to keep the MLB until they decide what they are going to do with the regular season. No sense trying to get money back on Spring training days. I hope they play the playoffs because the Blue Jackets would be in as a wild card.

I was planning on ditching Dish due to the lack of baseball being aired in Chicago due to disputes with Dish. Now that the baseball season won't start until mid-summer, I will keep Dish for now until the season starts. Maybe they will resolve this by then.

There is no way we are going from where we are now to packing arenas/stadiums anytime soon. NHL & NBA might as well come to grips with that and move on.

I am in a similar situation. I was primed to pause Dish in favor of another provider to watch Cubs games, but that decision has been postponed. I have canceled some others sports services though, ESPN+ and DAZN, as there is no reason to continue to pay monthly while there is no new live content.

I wondered about how they will handle this situation for MLB.tv. Let's say (optimistically) that a shortened season begins in June. Is it really fair that full season subscribers will pay more than people who went month-to-month? Or will they send pro-rated refunds to full season subscribers?

The answer is no, I have not cut back because I did away with any sports channels more than a year ago, they're just not worth the money. Why in the world, for instance, would I want to pay a chunk of money to MLB to watch out of market games that are blacked out anyway? It's a joke. Comcast has the Phillies locked up tighter than a drum so they get most of the out of market games blacked out on both MLB and ESPN because Comcast is broadcasting the game and has the local market rights sewn up, so what's the point? No, I have better things to spend my money on.

Out-of-market games aren't blacked out, it is in market games and national games that may be blacked out. If you are a Phillies and they are playing in Chicago the game will be blacked out in Philadelphia because that is in-market but I can watch it in Colorado Springs because I am out-of-market. I'm assuming (yes I know) that you live in the Philadelphia market and are upset MLB.TV blacks out all the Phillies games.

It is not a big deal with me. Not really into sports.
